After making a complete goose of myself with what I had written here I finally found a few options but I need advice please.
I found userpage_1.50 but it won't install on my XOOPS 2.5.1a, is there or is there likely to be an updated version of this module?
I also found xoops2.4_dates_1.45 which I was going to try to see if it would suit my needs but after unzipping and looking at the structure of the files I couldn't figure out how to even try installing it, are there instructions? I am I wasting my time?
Under the Blogs I found that PopnupBlog seems to be the latest file, is this okay to install on 2.5.1a or is there a better one?

There is a module in beta on the SVN called Documents which can be used for blogging there is also a module called XCenter which can also be used for blogging.

I never finished dates, perhaps when I have some time i will, there is also a version of wordpress called XPress for XOOPS which can also be used for blogs.
