Hi everyone,

(I'm just jumping into this thread, so please excuse me if I have missed earlier postings / information.)

Phppp has asked me if I would like to be a part of the Documentation team.. and I am indeed interested. I am unclear of where things are however, and so I am posting here in the hopes that someone can straighten me out as to what is going on.

I would like to contribute to the creation and organisation of the official XOOPS documention. I understand that this documentation is to end up on the final XOOPS documentation site/subdomain, which is docs.xoops.org.

I would like to know who is currently on the XOOPS documentation team, and who the team leader is.

If you have not previously expressed an interest in contributing to XOOPS documentation, please respond to this thread, to let us know that you are available. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks everyone,

jeffgr

How can registered users create and choose their own groups?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Ideally, I would like registered users to be able to create new user groups, and join or leave other groups at will. Kind of like a little site called Facebook... :)

Thanks,

Jeff

this is a funny thread...I started it along time ago, and now I am answering myself! :)

Check out this thread I just posted here on this topic:

Basically, in the planet module, I think it is just changing the template prefix names, changing the sql file table prefixes, changing the XOOPS version file, where it defines the module directory.

Give that a try, then upload and install module as usual. You will have to change the module image file if you want to be able to visually discern the difference between your module clones...otherwise, just hover over the module menu and look at the links...you can see which clone it is.

Hi everyone,

I made a post at http://www.jlmzone.com about how I cloned one of his modules, the classifieds module.... it seems to work for me, and you could probably do the same thing for any other module you want to rename.

Here is the link:

The Legend theme was just the most simple theme that I could find at the time... I think I got it from the theme directory, way back down the list.

But if you wanted to do something similar, I would use the latest version of the default theme today. What I did on the above site, was to first create an L -shaped frame design (so, a frame for the top bar, side bar, main window, and then a frameset file to contain all these frames). In the main frame, or the main content window, I think I placed an
