I know this is a bit off topic but perhaps it will help. I too struggled with tigra menu/ hvmenu and a few (dozen) other tools (same problems you've been having). Finally I broke down and spent $65 on a tool that is easy to use and works splendidly, albeit a bit counter-intuitively. It is called "1 Cool Menu FX- dual"

You can download a fully functioning version at: CoolMenu Site

It works wonderfully, easily, and all those good things.

You can check out my new menu scheme at:http://ezappraiser.com Just click on one of the banner buttons at the top to see the menu in action.

btw. Please email me if you run into problems...

There are others who have experienced similar problems with XOOPS 2 versions (me for example). It seems that the DB table entries are not always updated or cleared.

I no longer use the module due to its unreliablity.

Trying going to www.apachefriends.org and downloading XAMPP. If you are able to follow their simple (but large) install you should solve your problems.

Once you get ready to use XAMPP, be sure to shut off IIS before trying to run Apache on your machine, though.

I too have tried some of those... but none seem to really be a code generation suite (html-kit has worked okay for most of my editting).

What appeals to me about these code generators is their speed and ability to make up for my lack of coding knowledge between different environments.

Hello experts...

I am trying to find a code generator toolset to build OO style PHP (visually). Has anyone tried and/or used either CodeChargeStudio or CodeJay with any success? CodeChargeStudio looks like it might work (but I really can't tell, ergo my topic here).

The reason I need a tool like this is because of my almost complete lack of php coding expertise. And... I have a couple of XOOPS modules I'd like to develop and contribute (ie a winereviews DB)

I did look at the 2002 thread on CodeCharge but thought that maybe someone has had success in this field since those brief notes were placed on this site...

Other tool suggestions are most welcome.

Thanx,

They say that Sun (their support provider) will only support php v 4.0.6. Their (the support provider's) claim is that newer versions of php are too buggy. A lame excuse, I know. Unfortunately, I still need to find an older version of XOOPS that will work with 4.0.6 for my friend...

I have a friend whose brother is an ISP. This ISP is only able to support php 4.0.6.

1. Does anyone know which version of XOOPS ran under php 4.0.6 without problems?

2. Is that old version available anywhere for me to download?

I have my friend's site already built using 2.0.5 of Xoops... unfortunately that site crashes (actually won't load anything beyond the index.php page). If you'd like to check the site out it can be found at:http:///www.squareconstruction.com

Any help or recommendations are appreciated.

I am pretty certain that your questions are answered in the User Guide Wiki at the left.

All you need to do is edit theme.html. See the Theme development wiki link on the left.

So far as I know XOOPS only works with Apache not IIS. If you use a toolset such as WAMPP2 rather than IIS I think you'll have much better success. You can get WAMPP2 at:http://www.apachefriends.org/index-en.html
