Problem with PAGES

Hello!

I use pages as an excellent tool in order to make and display static pages wich are essential to my site. These pages are accessed through a block which are just beneath the main menu in my left column. As a sort of an extra menu. But I have one HUGE problem:

After clicking on one of my pages-links in the left the "menu" with the other 8 pages-links disappar from my left column?! How to prevent this from happening??

I have pages installed. Ok. But I really would like to manipulate my menu beyond that.

1. I would like to insert a link to a static page and that link must be one of the ordinary menu items.

2. Also, I would like to style the menu a bit.

3. I would like to make my own custom header. How to do that?

I solved the issues.

In all sql-files under /sql i went to the CREATE_ALBUM myalbumX..

and changed:

res_x int(11) NOT NULL default '',
res_y int(11) NOT NULL default '',
to
res_x int(11) NOT NULL default '0',
res_y int(11) NOT NULL default '0',

i.e. added a zero. And then it worked! Yes, it's a good idea to surf around a bit and look what others have done.

Characters in MX directory

On the top of the module mx-directory links are accessible through an alphabet. How to extend this alphabet with the three last Norwegian letters, namely æ, ø and å?

This is what I get when trying to install the module myAlbum-p:

Installing MyAlbum

Invalid default value for 'res_x'

Unable to install myalbum. Error(s):



Anyone with any idea?

Images and text in modules

I would like to add an image on the top of the CatAds module. Also, I would like to add some text beside this image. Where, and how to do this? I would like to do this to more modules as well.

Second: I think it would be useful to have a block on the right side with help options to each module presented. How is this done best, through blocks? One for each module?

Third: in MX-directory I will like to include the last three characters in the Norwegian alphabet, æ, ø and å. How and where to do that?

Fourth: Is it possible to add some manually links in the user menu to, for example, some articles made with the news-module?

Excel and Movies

Ok, I have installed pages, but still I can't figure out how to solve my problem. I need a solution where one of the registered users can upload excel files which should be listed and visible to the members, and from where the members can download the files.

I am also looking for a similar solution regarding video files, none of the (picture) gallery modules seems useabale for this purpose.

Anyone with any idea?

Gallery for photos and video -challenge

Ok, seems easy to use one of the image galleries modules.

But I also would like to have a kind of video gallery, and at the same time possibility for just some users to upload new videos (together with textual information regarding their upload)

How to do that?
