Hi all :)

I was not quite sure where to ask this at so if this is in the wrong place please move it.

I am trying to create some banners to use in the banner system in xoops. I have PSP 10 and can actually make the banners.

I need some advice on how to animate the banners using flash or an animated gif maybe? I would not only like a link connected to the banners, but would also like a mouse over wave or mp3 to play when you mouseover the banner.

Is it possible to do all that with one banner?

Please give me any advice or recommendation on programs or tutorials that may help me out. I have downloaded many flash type programs but have not found one that seems to work like I want it to.

Also remember that I am a newb on banner creation.

I have what I would call a crude banner up atm, just so you can see my skill level.

I have been doing a bit of research on this module and RSS in general. I am a bit of a noob so bear with me.

My goal is to get some of my original news content to show up in google's news search engine as well as yahoo's news search engine.

First question is this possible?

Second, if it is possible does the RSSfit module help me to accomplish this goal?


If the module does not suit my needs could someone recommend a module/procedure for accomplishing this goal.

Anyone know if this block has been fixed in the 1.44 version? Or if there is a way to make a block that puts the most read story in the block?

I recently received an email from an individual that tried to register an account but received an error message during the process. The error message was "could not create a new user."

When I looked at my list of users this individuals information was listed in the inactive user list and it had the 1969 registration date and the -1 post.


This individual had a @leo.gov address so I can only assume he was on a very secure network when he tried to register. So maybe the 1969 date issue occurs when a user tries to register but cant complete the registration due to tight security on their network.


Just a bit more info. Maybe one of you smart guys will eventually figure this out :)

Hi All.

I know there are a ton of post on this subject. I have spent hours reading through them and trying different fixes. However none of the fixes I found cured the problem.


I have two different sites. They are basically the same. One is a live site and the other is the same site set up as a test site. They are both using the same version of XOOPS 2.2.3 Final.

All test site notifications work fine and the live site notifications worked at one time, but i have noticed recently that they are not working now on the live site.

The live site new user registration notification works fine, but I cannot get any other notifications to work.

The notifications list updates correctly when I set a new notification. For example, when I write a new news item, it populates the notification list with that new item as well as including a link to the new news item on the notifications page.

I have checked all my modules they are all set up correctly. I have tried the default template and even regenerated the notification templates. I have also updated the modules that are involved.

It seems that everything is in order except that the email notification is never sent. I have also tried using PM notification on the live site. It does not work either.

These two sites are set up on the same server account(hosted by surpassdomains)so I dont think it would be a server setting.


I am using 2.2.3 final on both sites and PHP 4.4.0


Any New Ideas?

Look in your style.css file for the theme you are using. look for ul and il sections. I had this problem and I messed with these two areas..cant remember exactly what I did. May have eliminated all or parts of them.

If you are using a custom theme, make a backup and start playing with these two areas.

Check with your hosting company. It may be a setting on their end. Out of nowhere, I had the same error message and problems when people tried to register. My provider had changed something on the server. They fixed it very quickly once I made them aware of the problem.

Looking at your site answered my integration questions. That level of integration would be fine for my site.

Thanks for the info on the plugin will have to give that a try.

Did you initially have any database query errors? I get one when I try to use the ecard feature. When I dont use the bridge the ecard feature works. When I use the bridge I get a database query error. somthing about an unexpected column in a table regdate_user or some such. This also happens with the report link/icon right next to the ecard link.

Have been looking for a solution on coppermine.net. no luck yet.

Was just curious if you or any other users viewing this thread had any issues like that to begin with.
