I don't know what you mean by admin login area.
Admins login as normal users but with their admin name and admin password (yourxoopssite/user.php).
When there is no login area showed, can mean that there is a user logged in. You can logout by (yourxoopssite/user.php?op=logout).

This upgrade to V2.2 FAQ has a list of patches to apply.
If you would have troubles with it, specify what errors you get in which step.

... and the best start is a backup.

There is a trick to login on your users account, but your users may find out that someone did login in their place or couldn't login while you where busy and as a result they will become very suspicious and alienated.

SQL is the way.

Hmm Sometimes Dugris' site likes only FireFox. You can try this
Download XoopsInfo.
If it won't work, you can try to right clicking on it and then copy it to the URL field of your browser and click go.

If you have multiple copies of backups, you can look up differences. You have to be sure to not use infected backups. Quote:

You can propably do it in SQL from phpmyadmin. For difficult conversions the use of an intermediate table may be needed.

Spam point 58 means that there are 58 links in the message being posted by the spammer. So every post, comment, data field, text block, ... containing more links then you have specified in the protector preferences is refused.
