Haven't logged into my site for awhile and now that I have time to work on it again, the admin login area seems missing. Can anyone help? I thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Wendy

I don't know what you mean by admin login area.
Admins login as normal users but with their admin name and admin password (yourxoopssite/user.php).
When there is no login area showed, can mean that there is a user logged in. You can logout by (yourxoopssite/user.php?op=logout).

Thank you for responding. It's most appreciated.

I guess what I mean to say is once logged in it still says "Hello Guest." I also do not see a way to access the admin area of xoops.

Hi there,
I'm having exactly the same problem.
Recently set up a XOOPS site and had no problems until tonight.
All of a sudden I cant get into admin.

The log in boxes appear as normal, and when I enter my username and password I get the "thanks for Logging in" screen, but when I am then returned to the home page, there is no Administration Menu, and therefore no Admin link.

I have tried typing in mysite/admin.php but get an error mesage telling me I dont have permission to access.

Nothing has been altered in between logging in ok last night, and no being able to tonight.

So far I have emptied the sesion table in the DB to no effect, and checked the xoops_users table and the group_permission table but all seems ok in there.

I have another XOOPS based site on the same ebhost nd hat is running fine.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I have found a solution to this thats working for me at the moment.

Use your php editor to open up kernel/session.php and find around lines 75 to 80:

Enable regenerate_id

*
      * @var
bool

* @access    public
      */
      var
$enableRegenerateId true;

I simply changed true to false and it worked for me -the admin link re-appeared on the main page.

I cant vouch for any security issues this may cause but it does solve the problem.
