If the installed software has no write access how could XOOPS use the Cache folder ? Or how could smarty use the templates_c directory ?

Hi Brent,

sorry to say I am not a great coder either but I use the following :

if (empty($xoopsUser))
{

redirect_header("javascript:history.go(-1)"3_NOPERM);
    exit();
}

hope it helps !

Hi Abbey,

just a couple of questions :

- is your "old" site also 2.2.3 ?
- do you use the extended user profiles ?
- are you migrating everything to a new database or have you set up a new site and just (!) want to populate it with users ?
- do you also want to transfer droup membership ?

Just a guess here but have you tried deleting the files out of your browsers cache ?

Kind regards, Highlander

Hi Mark, welcome to Xoops.

Sounds like XOOPS is exactly what you need.
I would have a look at the modules ExtCal (for the calender) and News 1.42 as a news module.
That should get you going into the right direction.

Happy Xoopsing, Highlander

Hi hipoonios,

you should have a NewBB block called : "Latest forum messages". I believe this is the one you want.

I am not sure how to disable the message icons in Newbb.
If not showing them is what you are after than modifying the template to not show $topic.jump_post will do the trick.

Hi JMorris,

The Jerkiness in IE is caused by your semi-transparent background which scrolls over the fixed background.

This is something I have noticed on a couple of my sites as well in the past. However taking it away really loses the brilliant effect and makes the text harder to read as well.

In the past I've made visitors select the speed of their machine (fast vs. slow) and remove the semi-transparant background if they selected slow. You'll notice that on a really fast computer the jerkiness is a lot less than on slower computer. Obviously IE isn't very efficient somewhere.

you might also want to try and change the transparant .gif into a .png and see if this changes anything (they are rendered in a different way) however then you get into the whole IE - png issue.

anyway. Great theme !!!

good luck, Highlander
