Hi,

For the moment the XOOPS LDAP Authentication system is included in the 2.2.x version but the last version will not be included (tests reasons) in the 2.2.3.
It will be included in the next 2.2.4.

You can download the LDAP Authentication system Here

I have test it on Windows 2003 AD.

The best solution is to use a true SSO solution like CAS (Cantral authentication system). I plann to integrate it in a future version of the XOOPS Auth system.

I work on the XOOPS Authentication system for the first release of the 2.2 serie. It's myth that included it in the core.

I'm very surprised that this hack isn't in the 2.2.3 !!
The first version has many problems. For me this version must be included (after tests) in the 2.2.3 to offer a good
and functionnal authentication system.

the way forward may be to create an authentication module with plugins (and module config categories)

Do you mean a XOOPS module like PM or extended profiles ?

Hi,

I would like to know if it's possible to have submenu below a menu option in the preferences/system menu.

For example :

Preferences/system/Authentication option/LDAP : with an attach form
Preferences/system/Authentication option/Active Directory : with another attach form
Preferences/system/Authentication option/NT Server : with another attach form

...

I want to separate different option to be more clear for users.

thanks for feedbacks.

Totally agree. This is the goal of the next version of the LDAP Auth.

Quote:
1) DN of the LDAP manager : admin@domain.org (instead of cn=,DN=,DN=) - not sure why, but this was consistent with the way my other web applications authenticate against my AD.

Effectly, in windows server 2003 you can use the UPN (Userprincipal name) to login to AD. The UPN is like an email adress like user@domain.org.

But the normal DN : cn=<firstName>+<LastName>,dc=domain,dc=suffix is also available.

For auth with XOOPS, you need to set "uid as dn" to NO and
LDAP - UID Field Name (in fact login field name) to
the attribute that correspond to XOOPS uid field.
