I am trying to install XOOPS on my laptop. I am running Apache 2.0.5, MySQL 4.0.2, and php 4.3.8 on a debian (utunbu) system.

Everything seems to work fine (local host works fine and I can call php pages and create MySQL databases, etc) but while trying to install XOOPS I get a blank page after the page that has database hostname; database username; database name; table prefix - when I press the button to continue I get a blank page. Any help would be appreciated.

I am trying to install XOOPS on my laptop. I have everything install properly (as far as I can tell). But I cannot create a database using either mysqladmin or XOOPS install. All it says is that I don't haver permission @localhost.

How do I obtain permission or how do I change permission. I can't even figure out how to get to @localhost.

Thanks for your help.

Your lose wahhut. This is a great mod. Perhaps just try to uninstall and reinstall. This is one of the most used features of my site.

After upgrading my XOOPS version, I am having trouble with FlashChat. I can type 3 or 4 lines in flash chat and then nothing else will show up. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know a solution?

Thanks for your help. But I'm still unsure if it needs to go at some specific place in the mainfile.php?

Could someone give more detailed instructions on the change needed to the mainfile to extend the time of the autologin.

The instructions state:
Quote:
If you want to set the life time of remembering, insert a line into mainfile.php like this:
[ code ]
define('XOOPS_AUTOLOGIN_LIFETIME',2678400);
[ /code ]
This example specifies the life time as 1 month.
The default value is 604800 (= 1week).

Do you need to include the [ code ][ /code ]?

Where does this belong in the mainfile.php?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the help. I had recently modified my mainfile in cpanel to install the protector mod and it left some blank lines at the bottom. I had encountered the blank user page before but not this. Thanks again and for the reminder also about deleting name code.

I cannot log out of my XOOPS site.

I have the following php error messages on my index page:

Quote:
Notice: Undefined index: search in /home/****/public_html/modules/xoogle/include/xoogle.php on line 328

Notice: Undefined index: query in /home/****/public_html/modules/xoogle/blocks/xoogle_search_block.php on line 22

Notice: Use of undefined constant _XO_SEARCH_LABEL - assumed '_XO_SEARCH_LABEL' in /home/****/public_html/modules/xoogle/blocks/xoogle_search_block.php on line 28

Notice: Constant _ALBM_MYGAME_COMMENTS already defined in /home/****/public_html/modules/flashgames/language/english/blocks.php on line 3

Notice: unserialize(): Error at offset 0 of 6 bytes in /home/****/public_html/kernel/object.php on line 342

When I try to log out it says something about not able to modify header information and something about mainfile:99. It goes through that sequence too fast for me to read it all.

I am not sure about the sort part of your question, but you can change the view to flat at administration->forums-> module settings-> view mode of threads. You can set it for none, flat or threaded.
