Hi,

For import users from a excel file look in my signature (conversion script) but XOOPS run with Ldap or Active directory.

For others questions, you can try smartprofile by sample.

You must edit the file \class\mail\phpmailer\class.smtp.php and find the strings write by Hervet.

After in admin system menu, select mail setup for choose smtpAuth in Mail delivery method.

Last year i have publish this article . It explains how to reach and use the svn.
For reasons which I forgot, it was not published entirely on this site, but it was translated into English here.

Actually insert this url :http://xoops.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/xoops/XoopsCore/branches/2.0.x/2.0.17 in Tortoise svn for download the 20.17 version svn. This version is not finalized and is not to use on a site of production.

If it is too complicated for you, you can always read the changelog.

you must install a or several modules according to your needs.
To publish articles you have modules like news, smartsection, article by sample.
