Where are the next generation of Xoopsters coming from ?

That's right our Kids and Grandkids. If you start'em young and get them interested they will become the future Xoopsters of this world. They also need CMS systems to build and use.

Those important days and things they want to make note of, like mates birthdays, summer holidays, christmas presents lists, back to school (probably come under days to avoid or mummy I have a tummy ache), you know, get the idea.

Well what have they got to choose from when it comes to site templates ? Boring old business templates, Wargames and other stuff like that......... hardly inspiring for a lot of youngsters is it.

Well - Inspired by my Grandson, Hey what about Bob the Builder, so, Can We Fix It - Yes We Can.

My first theme for the kids to use, built with the help of my Grandson who is pleased at having his own - Bob the Builder website. It's available from the downloads section of my website.

OK opinions please - Is this a new area to explore or have I gone totally off my rocker and lost a couple screws somewhere ?

Hi Xoopsters and Pet Lovers

As I struggled and toiled
till my blood nearly boiled

with no time to shirk
to get this to work

It is with great pride that I announce the launch of my NEW XOOPS based site

Yes

Pet Finders Online
The site where you can freely post details of your Lost or Stolen Pets
Covering the UK and Ireland

Over the next few weeks more additions will be added to the site to include pet information, yellow pages for finding vets, animal breeders etc.... and a classified section for any pet stuff you might want to sell.

The nuts and bolts of the site is of course XOOPS 2.0.15 and the Pet Finder section is a modified and, in places, corrected version of Catads 1.4. Seemed to have removed a few bugs from this program and added extra fields on the submission form which are also accessable from the admin section, with extra details appearing on the published listings.

These extra fields were needed to display details of pets lost or stolen, found and reunited, with the extra fields covering breed, age, colour, sex, tagged, chipped and reward if offered.

This service is to all of you pet owners in the UK and Ireland.

Any other Xoopsters whom are also pet owners and pet lovers, we are looking for others to link with, to help us get a quick prescence in the search engines, 'well yesterday will do' - LOL. We will gladly link back to others who link to us.

I hope you click on the link and give us a visit, we know there's not much on there at the moment as the site is new, but hopefully you may want to bookmark the site and come back and contribute your ideas.

Thanks in advance
Malcolm

You need update the 'form.php' file, a fix that is needed to get some modules to work with the latest XOOPS version...search on this forum for 2.0.15 form and you will find the link, it fixed this issue for me.

This line you get
PM _MD_CATADS_CONTACT_MODE0

I also have the same problem and presume just about every body else does.

And yes Catads does have a few bugs, and I think I may have buggered a few off in my version.

I needed extra fields added and have now got mine stable and working, but of course with the above problem showing.

I am only taking a guess at this as I'm not a programmer, But work to a logical way and I may be wrong in this answer. But I think what appears is controlled by this line of text in the sql file.

`contact_mode` tinyint(1) NOT NULL default '0',

Now having not tried this, but am wondering whether the line should really appear like this below

`contact_mode` tinyint(1) NOT NULL default '',

Removing the 0 after default.

Anyone willing to give it a go ??

OK.... No replies, well no problem now as I got it sorted, don't know what I did, but it is now working perfectly.

So now I have a better working copy of Catads, with some of the coding tidied up, as there were some minor mistakes and eight extra form fields.

Can anybody help me on a small hack problem with Catads 1.4

I have added extra fields to the submission form, which also work via the Admin section to showing the extra details on the finished submitted Ad. Also corrected a bit of dodgy coding in the program as well. It works nearly 100%.

The only problem I can't figure out is - It all works well from submitting to previewing the Ad, BUT as soon as I publish the Ad, for some reason it shifts the details up one field, loosing the details from the top field and sticking a number in the bottom field.

If I click on Re-edit the Ad, it then publishes the details correctly.

It can only be a small coding error, but just can't figure out where.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this working 100%

Hi Catfish

I tried to post the details of the problems and changes I made directly to the 'The Cat' on his website but it appears no-one can signup there, so had to post it on the French XOOPS site. I just hope the google translation tool I used comes out making sense. I did publish a French and English version.

You might want to follow this link to some of the changes I made and the few errors I found and corrected.
http://www.weduk.com/catads-problen/index.htm

All I can hope is for a reply from the French connection as to getting a minor coding problem sorted out

Do a search for it you'll see what I mean

Hi catfish

I also am having some minor problems with Catads as I am putting in some extra fields on the submission page that will show up on the Ads page.

I've got it sort of working, but the results are not quite displaying properly unless I re-edit the final Ad.

Upon doing this Hack, I have found there are a few mistakes in the coding and am preparing details of these to submit to Felix the Cat, who I think released this module. Doing it this weekend and hopefully get a reply, as it seems he has not been on this site since March this year, so posting a message on his site.

Also have you updated your 'form.php' file as this may also fix your problem.. a fix that is needed to get some modules to work with the latest XOOPS version...search on this forum for 2.0.15 form and you will find the link
