I have installed XOOPS prbrably about 20 times. Using different versions from 2.0 to the latest 2.0.10. In all of these times I have NEVER gotten the image manager to work 100% correctly.

uploading images from the Administrator area seems fine. It uploads... stores to the blob in the databse and then the image can be used in stories etc.

When a user tries to upload and has the appropriate permissions to do so it acts like it stored. But the picture isn't shown in the preview in the image manager and a red X is displayed (like when windows can't find the file).

Anyone have any ideas and or suggestions?

We have always had a problem running imagemanger in EVERY version since 2.0 ---> thats stopped us from rolling out XOOPS on a production system. We want to save it as a BLOB in a database and it seems to work fine if you upload an image from the Administration area. But if you try to upload an image from an integrated text editor (pick any one because none seem to work) The image isnt stored in the databse but the image manager thinks it is and displays a red X where the image should be.

Fresh install of 2.0.10 on Red Hat on a dedicated server. We find many things really don't work 100% especially the imagemanger and the mail system.

What is CBB and what's the story with NewBB? Is NewBB still being developed? Is CBB just a take off on NewBB?

XOOPS image manger really sucks... we have the same issue athttp://www.sluse.com/

Now I susepct that if you try to upload an image as you are logged in as an ADMIN and uplaod from the Administration Menu you will be able to uplaod an image and it will show in your list of images...

We have the SAME exact problem. No one seems to have an answer.

Mail in XOOPS seems to be a cluster fuck at best. I'm not sure why but it seems that most people have issues with it even when running on their own box.

Has anyone seen the following issue

1) create an image category via image manager in Administration area. Set it so all user group can use and upload to the class and set it to "Store in the database (as binary "blob" data)"

2) insert an image no problem using the "Add Image File" in the Image Manager within the Administration area. The image shows up fine in the listings looks great.

3) Try to upload an image as a user would through one of the modules that has a hook into image manager, such as news. It seems like it works but when the list of images shows up all you see is a red "X" where the picture should be. Where it can't find the file.

For instance

http://www.sluse.com/image.php?id=3 ---> this pic was uploaded via administraton menu "image manager" within System Admin area.

http://www.sluse.com/image.php?id=2 ---> same picture tried to upload via news module when submitting a story.

This is obviously pretty important that our users can uplaod pictures if they are supposed to. Can anyone help with an idea. I know that I can't be the one and only person that has experienced this.

Thanks... I gave that a try and same issue... I seldom used the search during testing, so I am not sure if it just happened when we did an upgrade. If it just happened I was thinking it was a version problem... I may try a fresh install of XOOPS and then migrate my database, themes, modules and blocks.

Anyone else have any ideas before I try that?
