PHPPP, believe me, I've tried anything I could find at the forums. Anything that anyone even mentioned that could be a solution for this didn't help.

I would really like to know why default theme didn't run!?

Thanks

Hi everyone,

I use to see these kind of posts here in forum and I just couldn't believe that people get these errors by trying to install xoops. I'm pretty new with XOOPS also ( a little bit over a year ) but, I've installed XOOPS probable a 100 times and never had problems with installation. Suddenly, a friend of mine after seeing me using XOOPS ask me to make him a web site based on xoops. I had no problems by setting up everything on local but after i try to publish it at the web server I bought for him - I'VE GOT A BLANK PAGE. Jesus, a blank page, twilight zone for xoopers, a worst nightmare ... mare... mare ...mare ... huh ...

I have to mention that i'm using one of the best LINUX - apache ( Boy, I hate Linux ) servers you can find on the web (http://www.webih.com 's web servers ) . Fast, stable Zeus servers , always newest php, MySQL - stable version ... etc ... ( a little commercials isn't bad ). 24 hours these servers are running smoothly, no problems ... not for anyone ...

Anyway, from the step ONE till the last step ( setting up admin account, email and password i had no problems ), after I've clicked HERE to see MY PAGE a big WHITE HOLE HAS BEEN SHOWN.

Can you IMAGINE my face ( eyes as in the cartoons...  ). Can this happen to me? To me? A shaaaaaaaame!

I've tried XOOPS versions: 2.0.1, 2.0.3, 2.0.5.1, 2.0.5.2, 2.0.6, 2.0.7 ... I' couldn't check version 3.0.0 it's never been released yet ... None of them has worked. Cleaning the web server for a six times, uploading everything for a six times, installing everything for a six times, checking everything for a six times, researching a www.xoops.org forum, wiki for a ( huh ) times ... ALL THE FORUMS AT THE WEB. Nothing, there was no solution to find.

Jesus, XOOPS is very easy to install and manage, what the fu** is wrong?

I didn't want to post anything here 'cause someone has said DO NOT POST UNTIL YOU RESEARCH ANYTHING THAT'S BEEN POSTED ON THE FORUM ... I'm gonna shoot him in the knees.

I've checked anything I've found. Thank you Mithrandir for assistance you've posted here in forum and all others that have found some time to participate here, but all you typed up didn't help. I stuck here. And I want to stay here, in this very forum and post my SOLUTION.

I was ready to ask for help and assistance but I've found what was wrong.

Are you ready: :) :) :)

The problem was nothing more or less but XOOPS DEFAULT THEME !!!! ????

Yes, YES YES ...

I wasn't lazy to try everything for another six times, all XOOPS versions i've mentioned above had the same problem again. For a SIX times each version couldn't run ... default theme couldn't run!

Solution, I've renamed montisarts's grey theme into default one and everything was OK.

What happened? Does anybody knows what happen!? I want to know ... please!

Thanks ...

Yes, I want to add all my stats I had before, No. of visits.

I used the module that was modified from a simple flash counter released by bbchen from www.bbchen.org.

It uses flash for visual and *.txt as database for recording the stats.

It doesn't have anything to do with sql tables or something.

I mean, it's not big deal, but I have such a number off visits I want to have added to new istats.

The new istats is great, looks good, especially User avatar block. Great !!!

Possible to add old stats or not, it has started count the visits.

Thanks

One more question about istats:

Hardlly, I've let this module count visits but now I have another problem.

Is tere a way I can add my past 17.000 visits to istats counter?
It has started from " 0 " which means I've lost all other visits from my old counter module.

Thanks

Well, I get listed myself in map but instead in Bosnia each time I'm in Amsterdam -:)

This failure is since nuke 5.x.something ( originally this module was written for this platform ) and still it shows most users and members in Notherlands.
I newer realy find out why but somewhere ( some forum probable ) I found that problem is in geo servers this module is collecting informations from. Still, in nuke 7.x.x it has the same mistake. They didn't change it.

What I do is keep deleting the notherlands all the time 'couse not showing correct info. Other world places are OK.

Have no idea why you don't have members shown on the map but this module versionhttp://www.myxoops.org/x2download/wherebisdu.zip shouldn't have that kind of issue 'couse i'm using it and it works good ( not just Notherlands ).

If you're using the same module then I've no idea what's wrong.

Keep notify if anything changes.

In order to send e-mail through smtpauth servers you have to use your smtp outgoing username + username password. If user and password is correct you shouldn't have any problem with sending email

Quote:
SMTP Error: Could not authenticate

you receive this 'couse username or password isn't correct.

Your server mail system should work also. Try to set up a new account under your system exchange and send test e-mail to your self. If you can't receive it, then XOOPS isn't a problem - it's you server mailing system.

Disable firewall, see what happens.

I can't skip this 'couse i like visual -:)

Carnuke, have you enabled your globals in php.ini under root directory?

register_globals= on

It's wery important to have it enabled in order to have this module working correctly.

No Mithrandir, I didn't do anything of those you told. It was just simple upgrade. Also, I try to install xoogle module, and couldn't. It says:

Unable to install XoOgle. Error(s):
-
Installing XoOgle

- Could not insert XoOgle to database.

It's not big deal. Anyway, it's time to do another fresh installation but I was curious. It can happen to someone else.

Buy the way, I've made an expedition into my SQL over my phpmyadmin and under STRUCTURE I've found this:

xoops_mylinks_cat Browse Select Insert <a href="tbl_properties_structure.php?
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in D:\WEBROOT\web\modules\phpmyadmin\admin\db_details_structure.php on line 116

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in D:\WEBROOT\web\class\errorhandler.php on line 211

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in D:\WEBROOT\web\kernel\session.php on line 131

I have no idea how an why it occur.

Thanks

Could not update System
Could not update Downloads
... etc ...

Now it looks my data base remain the same as it was before update to 2.0.7.

Any idea!?

Thanks

Herko:

xoops 2.0.6
win 2000 server
mysql 3.23.53
php 4.3.3

no custom session

a lot of non-core modules - please don't let me count ( but this isn't a problem )

Recently I haven't made any changes

When happens - there isn't any spec. time (morning, evening, a lot of users on line, raining, snowing ... :)

THE MAIN PROBLEM IS - I'VE NO IDEA WHAY IT HAPPENS AND HOW IT GETS BACK IN NORMAL WITHOUT MY INFLUENCE!?

First I thought that simple counter (because of flash) is causing a problem and I shut it down. But it happened again so I turned it back on. In this way I turned off almost any module or block and it happened again.

Anyway, Kahumbu had problem with MySQL and I think also its MySQL problem.

That's it. Any help THANKS ... if no any, it will get back working again by itself.

Just like SKYNET.

Thanks
