Hi,
I have some problems with email settings and I can't solve it.
I use SMTPAuth. I have installed sendmail by default on Fedora 1 but I don't use it yet.
When I try to send email to user I keep getting this error :
SMTP Error: Could not authenticate
Also when I try to register new user I get a message that I am registered, but user doesn't get the email. Instead of this my root user of Fedora gets it.

And I almost forgot to mention that I have server behind firewall(linux ruter) if this help.

What is wrong or I missed something?

In order to send e-mail through smtpauth servers you have to use your smtp outgoing username + username password. If user and password is correct you shouldn't have any problem with sending email

Your server mail system should work also. Try to set up a new account under your system exchange and send test e-mail to your self. If you can't receive it, then XOOPS isn't a problem - it's you server mailing system.

Disable firewall, see what happens.

Have you tried phpmailer? It should work without reliance on smtp servers.
