Worked like a charm. Thank you VERY much for making such a simple task easy to perform. I hope this or something similiar gets added to the core eventually.

Easiest way to import avatars?

Could someone please give me a simple step-by-step walkthough on how to import a bunch of avatar images (100 or so)? I presume I'll need to make a list of them in some ascii format and import them into mySQL through some sort of magic.

Is there a drawback to having a lot of avatar images (many times more than my userbase would ever use but enough that they could all be unique and change them at will)?

Many thanks in advance!

I'm working on converting over one of my sites which is for an NWN PW from phpNuke. Since I've got the graphics and general feel that I want from the old site, I'm just refining and converting to CSS now to make multiple themes/color variations easier to compile.

http://www.legendsofgreyhawk.com/ (phpNuke site)

The XOOPS version is not online yet.

Once complete, I plan to post the theme so others can use it as a jumping off point. It borrows from several sources but is rapidly becoming a distinct work of its own. It's really nice to see how others built their themes and implement the pieces that work well or appeal to my needs.

There is a Tab mod available. Or you can hardcode it in your theme. It depends on which you feel more comfortable with or fits your needs better.

Do you have the "Update module template .html files from themes/your theme/templates directory?" marked as YES in the System Admin general settings preferences?

I'm pretty sure you need to mark that yes, reload the pages and then remark it no.

I found that I could get almost all feeds with Headlines with trial and error messing with the settings. I'd really like to see that module reworked someday as it hold promise. One thing of note is that for whatever reason it often took several hours (or so it seemed) for a change to take effect and for the feed to start feeding properly which made making adjustments a laborious process.

Another option might be WebDigest (http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/project/?group_id=1096). I ran across it on the Module Dev Forge and will be trying it out in the next few weeks. I'm finalizing theme changes and working on forums first.

I grabbed a few XOOPS themes that were similiarly laid out and am using them as a base from which to leap.

The nice thing about this approach (for me at least) is that I'm able to rethink what worked and what I'd like to see improved. Thus it's got the feel of the old while taking advantage of Smarty and the CSS/XHTML that I've learned over the last several months.

Keep an eye on Module Dev Forge in the left-hand column here. You never know what you might find. Sometimes wonderful things sneak in there under the radar for a wider audience to install/test so the last bugs get squashed.

One thing that I miss from phpNuke was a new module that started development last year called Workboard. Perhaps it's along the lines you are seeking?

http://www.burnwave.com/

In short, it's a simple workflow package. When I used it early on it was only good for showing assignments and I know it's been worked on since then. It gave everyone an idea of where we were stood and who was working on what. But it was limited....

That mod didn't fit our needs in the end. One of our team members had a license for Microsoft Sharepoint Services which was much more robust (but third party and $$$). That worked out for us much better.

I'd love to see a module developed for XOOPS for project management. We all have our side projects and many of us collaborate and need some way to keep energies focused.

Welcome back and thanks for the great news -- both on XOOPS and the nice changes to your personal life!
