Check the downloads section of this site and the sourceforge repository. There is a hack to migrate your phpBB forum and users over.

CAUTION: Practice this on a development server BEFORE you put it into your production site!

When I first started using Xoops, I used this hack to migrate over a phpBB forum to XOOPS and I lost ALL of the forum posts because of a mistake I made.

I would also like to express my gratitude for your efforts JackJ. Your work has simplified the support I offer to my clients enormously. Well done hardly seems adequate.

If you are in need of a mirror for your documentation project, I would be happy to assist.

Best Regards.

In Blocks you'll see several radio buttons that indicate where on your page the blocks will sit. They are in order of left column, left center, center, right center, and right column. First, change the settings to center. After you submit your changes, click on the edit link for the block you want to change the settings on. There is a scroll box next to "Visible in". Select what pages you want the block visible in, then click submit. Now, when you go back to the Blocks admin page, the block's options won't be visible. This is because the blocks admin page shows only the blocks visible in either All Pages, or Top page. To view your settings for a particular page, click on the drop down box next to "Show blocks visible in" and select the appropriate page.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Yeah, and what ChadK said too.

If you are manually creating a static page, it may be a little difficult to manage displaying a block only on that page if you don't set it up as a module.

There is a module called MyPage [courtesy of JackJ] that creates a single static page module that can be renamed and linked through the Main Menu.

I find this to be the best method of adding static pages to my site because it enables me to define sublinks in the Main Menu and add blocks that are only displayed on that page.

JackJ has provided a comprehensive quick start guide on managing XOOPS called XOOPS For Dummies. You can find everything you need regarding basic management of your site.

First, please be patient. Sometimes it takes a little bit before people can reply.

Second, did you wrap your page using the following wrapper?
Courtesy of JackJ - XOOPS For Dummies:

<?php
include("mainfile.php");
include(
"header.php");
$xoopsOption['show_rblock'] = 1//0 for no right block
?>

Your HTML Code here (Note: Do not include head and body tags)

<?php
include("footer.php");

?>

You would need to use patches to upgrade. i.e.: 2.0.3->2.0.4->2.0.5 etc....

I would highly recommend that you do this ASAP since there have been numerous security patches since 2.0.3.

It's important to note that some modules are not backwards/forwards compatible. You may need to upgrade them as well, else they could "break" Xoops.

Is the myalbum module you're using compatible with your XOOPS version? Usually, you can find what version of XOOPS your module has been tested on in a reame file, or the xoops_version.php file.

I have a few questions for you.

What are you hosting on / What version? (Linux / Windows / Other)
What versions of MySQL, PHP, freetype, curl, etc.. are you running?
Do you offer PHPMyAdmin?
Is there Perl support?
What versions of FrontPage do you support?
What is your backbone connection?
What form of redundancy have you emplimented?
Do you offer domain registration? If so, how much?

Please forgive my skepticism, but your packages sound a little too good to be true. If your packages meet my needs, and you have emplimented the proper redundancies you very well may have a reseller right here.

It wouldn't be difficult at all. Your site almost looks like a XOOPS site as is.

IMHO, it's best to base your theme on the XOOPS default because you know for sure it will work if you follow standards and don't get crazy with too many tables.

To convert the default theme to look like your site, ad a table row for the navigation bar below the header, insert your javascript navigation bar, edit your CSS to match colors, fonts, and table widths, and manage your left and right blocks using the XOOPS Blocks administration.

If you're comfortable editing HTML and CSS, it would probably only take a day or so to get it done.

My advise, setup a local development server with XSAS or easyphp, and start hackin the XOOPS default theme.html and style.css in a controlled environment.

My entire website gives me that error, not only the page I refreshed.I deleted the file that I copied to my server ("The file that caused the problem")Should I get fresh copy of include/common.php file or the file I copied to my server?

That would be a good start. Also, you may want to setup a development server on your home machine so you can test things like this before you upload them to your production site.

If using Windows, you may want to get either XSAS, or easyphp.
