Re: [XoopsProject] request - report from existing teams

Blimey! By Monday?

It's already halfway through Sunday here, any chance we could have an extra 48 hours, say... Midnight Wednesday/Thursday (GMT) ?

It would give us a chance to grab those who go out on Sundays...

Re: [XoopsProject] proposal - XOOPS Project Council

Excellent news

The following probably goes without saying, but just to be clear...

I trust that we will be working on horizontal-heirachical (heterarchy) principals here, as opposed to vertical. (Wikipedia).

A system where by the 'Leaders' of the various Teams/Comitees will be:
a) be acting as delegates sent out by their teams.
b) be conduits through which team members (and team constituencies) can be heard.
c) be messengers bringing back proposals for approval/dismissal to their constituent members.

What I want to say is, I believe that the 'Teams' should be trusted with responsible autonomy and respected enough that the role of the proposed Project Council would be more one of coordination than dictation.

I believe that our community as a whole should take more responsibility for the course that XOOPS is to follow. Give the community the means to co-operate in the construction of XOOPS (teams) and the tools with which to be heard (team 'leaders') and the results will be startling.

Fully support you in this phppp. There'll be a monstrous amount of work ahead of you, and I respect your selflessness in taking it on.

Re: [XoopsTeam] - News Team To Become Communication Team?

I kind of like the idea of unifying the various teams, Tom.
Whether it takes the form of renaming the 'News Team' to the 'Communications Team' or not, doesn't seem as important as having a 'Chief Co-ordinator' or 'Editor' person overseeing things. After all, whether one team with many sections or several teams all submitting reports to an editor (or, considering the likely volume of information coming in, maybe an 'Editorial Team' ) ... the result is the same. More information being made available to the community as a whole. That's the goal, isn't it?

You have my vote (for what it's worth) for the role of 'Editor-Coordinator-Communicator Supremo' (subject to a limited term renewable through direct election of course).

Skalpa have to quit because his Ill or not?

I really hope this is not a fake reason which would be intolerable and really shocking.

How can you believe to make confidence come from lies?

I don't even know who I'm talking to when asking those questions.

Come on guys, let's not make conclusions based on rumors. Skalpa has resigned and the whys and wherefores have no relation to the way forward. Let's stick to the facts. We have an excellent CMS here which is attracting a huge amount of volunteer support.

Re: [bad boy] Excuse me

I think Marco's right when he says a Manifesto is essential for instilling confidence in the community as a whole.
And in answer to this:

I say, maybe it's also time for the community to explain how we want the developers to interact with the rest of us too.

While their knowledge and ability is more clearly defined, a developer is no greater or lesser a member of this community than anyone else who's been inspired enough to register here.

Let's try and move beyond the 'them' and 'us' attitudes of old, and realize that the only way forward is through unity of purpose and vision derived through discussion and peer review and resulting in consensus.

Naturally, truth and honesty is essential for this.

(I think we're heading in the right direction, folks )
