system adin -> templates -> system module -> xoops_redirect.html.

That is the template that needs to be edited.
- clone the default template set, edit the aforementioned template in the new cloned template set, and set the cloned template set as the active template set in system admin -> preferences -> general settings.

Every other major cms has it, why shouldn't XOOPS.

No matter the idea for a new feature, this shouldn't have to be an argument to implement it in XOOPS, ever. XOOPS isn't all the other CMS'es, nor does it aspire to be. A feature should be implemented in XOOPS for many reasons, but these should be 'XOOPS reasons'.

Just my opinion tho

SMTP & Perl are not things XOOPS deals with, so it seems that something else is causing this. Make sure your host tells you what exactly is causing this!

I own a MacBook and can use XOOPS just fine.

XOOPS is a script you install on a webserver. A Mac is, by default, not configured as a webserver. You can do this easily, however. Search for MAMP, an application that lets you run a local webserver with PHP and MySQL installed.
However, this doesn't make it possible for others to visit your website.

What you need to do is get yourself some cheap but reliable webhosting, and use that. You can upload files from your Mac using Transmit FTP client (I like it), and use the stuffit app to extract the archives. The rest all goes through the webbrowser, and you can use Safari for that, or Firefox for Mac, or whatever you want to use.

it is always a future

But yes, 2.3 will incorporate module 'hooks'. There's some posts about this on the sf.net developers forum.

Good to see tho that the module I had developed by Bunny for XOOPS 2.0.3 at the time, was considered usefull

IMHO there is a big difference between "PAGES" and "CHAPTERS"

On paper, you're right. Why would anyone have a chapter over more then one page on a website?
