Hello,

My site is currently running XOOPS 2.5, X-Forum 5.7.5, Profile 1.6, Xortify 2.3 & spiders 2.66.

I have had a couple users sharing that they have access problems to the site from different computers and these issues seem to be centered around Charlotte 0.9 as a user already logged in when they try to access the site.

Below is an example of an issue.

Quote:
I tried the library computer again. This time I was able to access the site. But I found that I could not log in because a user was already logged in. I checked view account and it said Charlotte 0.9 robot@xortify.com. And when I viewed a thread, it showed Charlotte 0.9 as viewing the thread. The OT forum was not visible. I hit "Logout" but it did not logout this user. The library computer runs "Userful Desktop" which I believe is some sort of open source operating system. Not that I know anything about such stuff. But the site is working fine on my Mac at home.

Another user shared a similar problem.

Quote:
Troutbert's problem sounds a lot like the problem I have with the chrome or firefox browsers under linux. I get either a "Fatal error: Uncaught SoapFault exception" with a screen full of HTML-ish stuff, or I am logged in as another user (Charlotte0.9) with no permissions and can not logout.

Not sure if these are configuration issues, bugs or internet voodoo?

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Simon,

Yes the current functionality of Whos Online is working fine.

That would be great if that new feature of hiding groups online would be added. My users don't really understand those crawlers.

Thanks for all your help and and did change your status on the site. Sorry for all the registration notices.

Dave

Hi Wishcraft,

I want to the feature of Users Online working, I just don't want to have certain users or group be seen when they are on the forum.

Is there are way to keep certain users hidden while on the forum?

If a robot checks in to xortify and then starts crawling the forum they show up in the list of Whos Online. I want them to do so just not bee seen by other users.

Thanks,

Dave

Hello,

I have been working on this on my own and I have hit a wall.

I would like a group of users (those users in Spiders module) not to be seen in the Whos Online while they are logged in. All my users think they are bots.

My site is currently running XOOPS 2.5.1, X-Forum 5.7.5, Profile 1.6 & spiders 2.66.

Thanks,

dkile

I had the same problem with censor after the 2.5 upgrade. The code change in the config file was the fix. Thank you andrey3761

I have had GoDaddy Shared hosting with the packaged install of XOOPS for 18 months. 16 months were great. I couple of issues have come up recently that are making me want to switch from GoDaddy.

First you don't have any access to the SQL DB when you have it installed by GoDaddy. Big problem for me when my site fouled up and I couldn't get to the DB and make any changes.

So I then had to install a new SQL DB and install a brand new site. A very bad thing when I have had my site for ten years and have a 1,000 users and lose all those registrations! Stupid me for not backing up, but I could get to the DB!

My new site on XOOPS 2.0.15 had been going fine and now over the past six weeks has had significant performance issues. Support at GoDaddy blames XOOPS and the SQL DB, but I can't see it. My site access is five seconds at midnight and 45 seconds during the middle of the day. Hmmm sounds like an overloaded server to me!

They then say "it is shared site and you may want to upgrade." or "you db has too many processes and your scripts are not opertating correctly."

45 seconds to load any page is BS and I have watched my DB are there are no problems with the procceses. You get what you pay for. Cheap hosting probably gets to cheap hosting with anyone.

I am now trying to learn how to back-up my site and pay for a VPS that I can transfer to some more reliable performance.

I quick update on my month request for a fix from Godaddy. I did speak again with support and they did look at the server and agree the time during the day was not good. They have done some adjustments and I am now getting 8-15 second load times during the day and 2-4 second times during non-business hours.
