Hold on think I found it. Went a little deeper into phpMyAdmin and found a repair selection that seems to have worked.

Looks to be good and will do further testing and report back.

Goffy thank you

Good direction and was able to check on a few.

caches are set
xoops_data>caches>xoops_cache - 0777

secure.php"* XOOPS secure file”
- 0644

I was able to turn debug mode on manually. Common error seems to be:
Error number: 145
Error message: Table './paflyfi1_xoops/xoops_session' is marked as crashed and should be repaired

While in phpMyAdmin it shows that table "in use"

I tried to get into the xoops_session table thru phpMyAdmin and get dialog "'./paflyfi1_xoops/xoops_session' is marked as crashed and should be repaired”. I can’t get into that table. My knowledge of phpMyAdmin and sql stop there. Any suggestions would be great. I would rather ask before I do something stupid. Thanks so far.

Goffy,

I have done both and deleted my cookies on my browser too. Not saying I even repaired the PHPadmin correctly. PHPadmin is not a strong suite for me.

Thanks

A variety of site problems are showing up. No changes on my part in a long time.

I have spent a fair amount of time looking at the XOOPS FAQ and Forum looking for a solution with no luck. I have manually gone into PHPadmin and tried to repair Xoops Config. I went thru FTP and deleted my caches.

Examples of some issues:
• Can't turn on Debug Mode
• Can't make changes to General Settings example: can't turn site or change slogan
• Can't change new registration on/off
• Private Messages can't be deleted by users
• Several login issues for users
• No dialog box after trying to do maintenance requests
• Can't change RSS on/off preference in xForum
• New posts in the forum do work

XOOPS 2.5.7
System 2.11
PM 1.1
xForum 5.8

PHP Version 5.4.39
MySQL Version 5.6.22-cll-lve

Any help would be great!

Funny thing happened last night as the site went back to normal and the errors went away. I think my hosting company may have been doing some things to cause the problem. Hard to tell or get answer from them about it.

Anyway I am following Mamba's suggestion on the site update from XOOPS 2.5.3 to 2.5.7. All going well so far and will keep posted.

Hello,

My site is currently getting a Strict Standards error message. I am able to login and can get to the control panel, not not much else. I have made no changes to the site and trying to find out if my hosting company has made changes. I suspect they updated the PHP version.

Current Versions
XOOPS 2.5.3
Apache version 2.2.27
PHP version 5.4.30
MySQL version 5.6.16-cll-lve

Thanks for the previous help in the forums about this issue. I have attempted to clear caches and change the static function with the xoopsload.php file. No luck.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Long time user of XOOPS and lurker on the forum. Get many of my answers from everyone with similar issues. Thanks again.

Word Censoring in 2.5.3

My Word Censoring not working. After after upgrading from 2.5.1 to 2.5.3 I noticed that all the words in the Words Censoring Options went away.

I added six bad words back into the preference and for a minute it worked. Then shortly afterwards words were no longer being censored. Checked the words listed in the preferences again and they were no longer listed.

Repeated this with a single word and then several words separated with | and the sames results. Censoring works for a minute or less and then the fails. The words then no longer appear in the preferences list.

Please any help or ideas on how to fix this. Been looking in the forums and no luck.

2.5.3, X-Forum 5.8
