Ive Never done that before - how do I run it?

I am a longtime XOOPS admin, but have not ran anything newer than 2.0.13.2, until now.

I loaded up a new server with Win2003 Std with all MSFT updates.

Just got done loading fresh loads of IIS6, PHP 5.3.1, MySQL 5.1.44 and want to put on XOOPS 2.4.4

I followed all installation instructions to the letter - set permissions, etc. The XOOPS installer runs fine without any errors whatsoever. However, when I finish, I get the infamous blank screen.

I have tested to ensure that PHP is working on the server - it is. I dont know what to do at this point...

For purposes of others that may be searching in the future, I am posting the simple soltion.

I had my posters divided into groups and it seems that by default these groups were given admin rights over the "form" module and this is why they were getting the delete button on all posts.

To resolve this, go into the admin module, click on System Admin, Click Edit Groups, select your group and remove module administrative rights from them...

I for one did not know that this control existed (it seems a bit backwards to me that permissions are controlled in so many places) and thus would appreciate some contructive ideas rather than smart-ass replys on this forum...

Guys, I am looking for a somution to this simple problem. I cannot be the only person that has had it or asked about it. I think the issue must be that I just dont know where the permission control is located.

Frankly, I am not interested in upgrading - if it aint broke, dont fix it! We use the site for a very narrow, yet mission-critical purpose and aside from the fact that posts are deleteable by all users, there are no other issues with the site. Doing an upgrade now sounds like a whole new can of worms...

Can someone please post some ideas on how I could take away everyone's delete right to all posts on our forum?

As per forum software, as I said, it is whatever came with our version of Xoops. It is called just "Forum".

We run XOOPS 2.0.16 with the "Version 1" form module that came bundled with Xoops. I have a few forums configured as "Private" forums and have my users pretty well sorted between where they should and should not be able to go.

After 2 years of use a problem has surfaced that we never notticed before. All of the sudden posts are disapearing and the only explaination is that someone is deleting them. For some reason all posts in my forum have a "Delete" option avalible for all logged on users. I need this option to not be there - is possible even for the people that made the post.

I looked all through the options under the administrative controls and could not find a way to turn off "delete" button for non-moderators. Please advise!

I am on Windows, so 777 does not mean much to me. However, that means that the IUSR_ user has read/write rights, correct? If so, then yes.

I dont have PHPMyAdmin, but I can just re-create the site... Is there a write-up on all the permissions that should be in place for XOOPS to work in Windows?

User.php loads a blank page with the same debuging as posted above. Going to admin.php, it says,

You don't have the right to access this area
If the page does not automatically reload, please click here

And then it throws me back to index.php, which is broken...

Hi guys,

I run a server with a few XOOPS pages on it. I am setting up a new one and am having the evil blank screen when going to the main page. What is happening is that my custom theme is not working. When I use the "default" theme, everything works fine. When I switch to another theme, I get blank page.

I used the write-up for cloning and modifying the default theme found at:https://xoops.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=212 For now, I have not modified anything, just the clone of the default theme is not working.

I have used this write-up successfuly in the past with other XOOPS sites on this server (same versions of everything) and it worked without a problem...

Things to note: My templates_c folder does not have a file %%47... Also, it calls on a path of C:\php5\pear -- I do not have a php5 directory, my php is installed in C:\php

Another more serious problem is that I accidently left the site in the broken template when I clicked off the admin page, so now I cannot get back into the admin page because it tells me that I am not signed in...

I am running IIS 6, MySQL 4.1, PHP 5.1.2 and XOOPS 2.0.13.2.

Hi Guys,

I would like to get my XOOPS site to show only a logon screen for users that have not logged on. I do not want annonoumous users to see as little as possible.

Now I know that I can secure the directory on the web server, but then users have to type 2 sets of credentials to get on and that is tedious.

I downloaded a few "blogs" but they seem to want imput via email or something - I didnt quite understand how they work. I want to be able to just post via the site itself - no frills, just a daily log/diary...
