Are you saying that there is no room for "users"? Either you learn about how the graphics card work, whih type of ram is better and what the trade off is, or you cannot buy a PC at all.
I don't think it is that bad to reach a stuation where "users" also want to use the product, and not only experienced xoopsers?

I'm sorry, but is your definition of user a stupid invividual with the IQ of a green plant ?
A basic PC user, if he doesn't know how his graphic card works, needs at least be able to learn that he sould press the "on/off" button to turn it on, press another button to open his CD tray, insert the disc he just bought, close the tray, and double-click on the "setup" icon to install a program. If he doesn't want to learn all this, he still has the possibility to use the CD as a frisbee.

Here it's the same: you don't have to know how everything works, you just have to select the module(s) you want to use, and install it.

If you want another metaphor, you may prefer: you don't have to learn how to build a car to drive it, but if you expect to have it move by itself like a taxi, you're going to wait for long.

There are additional space characters at the end of your file.

Open textsanitizer.php, and ensure there is nothing after the final "?>" at the end of the file (IMO there is an empty line in yours)

Your files were not uploaded correctly (at least this one is missing, but there may be more).
There's a script in the 2.0.14 package to check this (the instructions are in the release notes).

Uploading files may have reset the cache folder permissions.
Check that this folder is writable by the server.

You didn't follow instructions correctly and overwrote mainfile.php

If you have a backup, restore mainfile.php from it.
Otherwise, you can re-create it with the installer:

- Upload the "install" folder in the root
- Run the installer
- Re-enter you mainfile values
- Go until the "writing constants" page
- Stop here
- Go to "upgrade" and run the upgrade script
- Delete both install and upgrade folders

Mmmhhhh.... I'm not really sure, but:

1) Did you enable the "check templates for modification" option in the main preferences admin page ?
2) Anyway, you're not supposed to modify modules templates directly, it will make modules updates really tricky. If you want to changes templates by directly editing files with 2.0.14, you can do this:
- Enable the "check templates" option in the main preferences page
- Copy modules/weblinks/template/weblinks_header.html to themes/yourtheme/modules/weblinks/weblinks_header.html
- Copy modules/newbb/template/newbb_index.html to themes/yourtheme/modules/newbb/newbb_index.html
- Make changes to the new files (not the ones directly inside the modules folder)
- Once you're done, disable the "check templates for modification" option again

Insert:

<{$xoops_module_header}>

in theme.html, somewhere before </head>

erm... you are right.
I disable the gzip, and now are fixed.. strange.. i am using the 2.0.14 with no hack.. and with 2.2.4 dont show nothing notices, warnings.

Well it must be in a module then. And for the notices: maybe they were here before, you just didnt see them: in 2.0.13 (and 2.2.x also I believe) debug mode was only working in the main pages. In 2.0.14 it also works for the admin pages.
