Thinking it was in tplsource, I completely dumped it using phpmyadmin and updated that with the older backup, seeing as how no modules were changed or installed since then. But it's the same problem. I just don't understand.

newbb2 completely messed up after update

I'll just dive into the issue since it's a pretty strange one.

I was trying to put some simple google text ads into the forums theme. One I had already altered several times. Once I hit the update button though, it went all to hell. I have the site down right now until I fix this, so I can't show anyone. However, when I go to the forums page, none of my forums are displayed. Just the categories. And at the bottom of the page I get

" alt="" /> =
" alt="" /> =
=

Obviously trying to put adsense ads directly in newbb_thread was what caused it. Unfortunately, taking it out and reupdating didn't fix a damn thing.

I have a backup, but it's old and I have about twice as many members now as I did then.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy my problem? I can't seem to find where the templates are stored in the database, or I would just delete those entries and update the module.

Please help.

newbb2 "sponsor images" not showing.

I've created some gifs and uploaded them to the correct directory. In the admin area, I goto forums -> categories. Then I select EDIT for a category and select the appropriate image name from the dropdown menu in Sponsor Image. It shows up there fine, but they aren't viewable in the forum index page or anywhere else.

Any ideas?

The short answer is you can't. Or at least that's what I have been told. It's something I am looking into and as soon as I have a simple answer I'll make sure people know about it. The problem is that everyone with an answer assumes the rest of us know enough to figure it out. Not always the case, is it?

The integrated editor boggles my mind as well. My frustration lies with my own inability to fully understand the nature of xoops. I have a site utilizing newbb2 with spaw (which is my favorite for it's excellent image uploader and manager. In order to appreciate Spaw, make sure you have 1.7. I myself am a hardcoder by nature, so I haven't even looked at the table formatting abilities of it.

I have tinkered with the xoopseditor package, installing it as directed and got mixed results. None of which were desirable. As I figure this out I will put up a dev site carefully and FULLY documenting the integration of the xoopseditor package with each module I perform the integration to. Hopefull a few of you can help me out. PM me if you're interested.

I find it frustrating how little documentation there is available around here... I'm looking for exactly the same answers.

Could someone point me in the direction of the module that is used on the dev.xoops.org site for the projects. It puts the following categories at the top of the page:
Summary News Forums Trackers Bugs Support Patches Features
Tasks Samples Docs Lists Surveys Files CVS

Thanks in advance.

Look for SmartPartner on dev.xoops.org.
