Thanks for the hint. Do you ever sleep?

Another question I have, is what are the absolute necessary db tables needed to repopulate a fresh XOOPS install with just the users, forum posts and news posts from a nuked install?

Blank newbb after trying to update theme?

Before I know how to ask my question, I need to know what XOOPS does after I tell it to stop pulling the template from the cache and start pulling it from the actual theme folder.

I know that template_c stores the pages, but I'm not sure what happens and where it pulls the themes from if you tell it to not pull it from template_c in the control panel.

Does it do any databse accessing whatsoever? If so, what tables does it access, and what folders within the site directory does it try to access / change etc.

Any insight would be helpful, as after I try to update the theme my newbb module comes up with no content at all.

FIXED !!!

Man I tell ya. What a stressful night. But patience paid off and after reconstructing a good database from good known tables and a site dir from good know flatfiles, I finally got it.

Thank you so much jdseymour. I would have never known to work with the templates_c/ and cache/ directories. You're a life saver man. You have no clue how important this site was to me.

THANK YOU !!!

Can anyone give me a short rundown of anything and everything that affects how the forums are displayed? Both in the faltfiles of the site directory, and in the database so I may figure out what is causing this?

Thank you in advance.

Well, I tried that, and afterwards I get blank forums. Absolutely nothing shows up. So I updated the forum module and I'm back to the same problem.

I've replaced the newbb folder, the theme I'm using, AND _tplsource with the previous versions, but nothing helps.

Something else I noticed, is that it's as if I never altered the template to the forum posts. But I did...

Does anyone know if tplsource is the only place these things are stored or altered when the module is updated?
