I have a question that is probably very simple to answer, but I have been struggling with for a little while and can't seem to figure out, so I figured I'd come to where the experts are. OK, I am not well versed in html or any kind of coding although I am trying real hard to learn it.

Here is my problem... In the Default theme, I am trying to change the charactistics (color, font size, line weight and line style) of the block surrounding the center column blocks. You know what I mean, like the block on the home page of this site that says "Welcome to XOOPS official website!" and has the the light blue line around it. I have a few custom blocks on my site that I'd like to have stand out more with black or red lettering instead of the light blue which does not stand out very much.

I have played around with the style.css and theme.html and can't seem to see where this change may occur.

Thanks a ton for your help. Really appreciate it!

Greetings All!

Whenever I add a link in any object (Forum Post, for example), clicking on the link always opens the target in a new window. I realize this is normal and expected behavior, however, when I want to link to something within my site, I prefer the target open in the same window instead of popping up a new window.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help!

OK, I think this might be the answer to our problems if the error message you are getting is due to anonymous access not being enable.

http://xoopsgallery.org/modules/mantis/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=18

I'll be trying this over the coming weekend. Hope it works!!!

I've had the same problem and did some digging last week. Apparently you need to have anonymous access enabled for Remote to work the way it was designed. The post I found indicated that there was a workaround or hack that you could do if you didn't want to grant anonymous access. However, I can't readily find the post nor recall what the steps were. But there is something out there that addresses this.

Exactly the same issue that I just ran across today and was going to post a question regarding.

Another question I have regarding Polls: Registered Users have an Administration button in their User Menu block which takes them to the Admin Control Panel where there is the Poll button is visable. Here it allows the users to create, delete, etc. Polls. Is this the only to allow Registered Users to create Polls?

Thanks!

...but they ARE out to get me!

Thanks for the advice. I'll play with these settings in the next couple of days as well as look into AntiDOS.

Thanks!

I know that there are bits and pieces about this, but I was wondering whether there are any articles or whitepapers devoted to the topics of...

* General maintenance and settings to keep your XOOPS site running at an optimal level.

* Settings, programs, modules, etc., to keep a site as secure as possible.

I run a site only for my family and want to make sure it's locked down as tight as possible. I disabled new user registration, anonymous accounts and display only the header and login box on the front page. Of course with these steps I am trying to keep unwanted users out.

Additionally, I removed all Meta Keywords and Meta Description and set the Meta Robots to "No Index, No Follow". My hope here is that search engines won't easily find the page.

I know there are some stats modules out there and am looking at php-Stats to help me analyze traffic, hits, etc...

I'd appreciate any other suggestions that the community has for me!

THANKS!!!!!

XoopsGallery Capacity Limits??

Aside from physical server limitations, does anyone know whether there is a limit to the number of albums, nested albums or pics that a XoopsGallery can have?

Thanks!
