This might sound like a silly question - but it looks from the outside (not having seen anything other than the comments) that this could be used to implement a 'personals' site? I may well be wrong... but it it *is* for that I'd be straight in... I have a site crying out for this sort of module.

otoh... does anyone know of anything else I might use for that sort of site?

Hi MickBriz... sorry I took so long to get back... as usual real life rudely interrupted the more important virtual one!

But either way all I can say is 'Wow... I'm impressed!!' Is this in the form of a 'theme' that I can download somewhere or do I nick the elements and try to find a way of implementing it?

Or is it yours and 'hands off'... I might be Welsh but I do have *some* manners

Your site doesnt look bad at all, you probably just want to change the css to include red and it aint difficult to use the Welsh flag in the header.

Thanks for that - makes me feel a bit less desperate :)

I'll have a look at the css... though my middle name is 'allthumbs'... but I suppose nothing ventured nothing gained eh?? :)

But if anyone could come up with a welsh themed err... theme tho I'd still be intrested :)

Welsh Theme??

I have a website (called Talk Tidy) which is dedicated to Wales and the Welsh. Trouble is I can't find a suitable theme, and sadly I have absolutely no skills in theme design or implementation :(

If anyone feels in the mood to have a go at making one I'd be very grateful. I figured bearing in mind the national colours (see below) the 'base' colour would be mainly red, but obviously whatever arrives will be very welcome.

The national flag is a red dragon on a green field against a white sky, for example see ---> HERE

Looking forward to seeing what you can do!

Chris

Does anyone know if the search engines can spider the PM's inside the message boards? I'm using the Invision board on a couple of sites and want to make a 'sensitive' request of the members :)

very nice...

Taking a quick look at it and it has just about everyinthg a recipe database structure would need per recipe.

thanks for the link JasonMR!
Cheers,

Has any more development work been done on this? It seems to have died off in the end.

I'd really like a recipes module...

The logo has also centered itself.

Finally sorted a work around by adding a
"<P ALIGN="left">
onto each line in the block!

Still not worked out the logo centering... but at least the blocks look presentable!

I had something similar...I had a program running with its own MySQL database and using PHP.

It wasn't until recently that I switch over to Xoops. So in order to incorporate the program, I created a module out of it.
<snip>

Interesting... it might not work with the one I had in mind as it uses UTF-8 as well (just to make it all harder <g>> but I can give it a try :) Thanks!

I'm running successfully on PHP5. I know there is no advanced PHP5 support, but a couple of sites do work fine with PHP5 or at least I do not notice any side effects.

I have XOOPS running on two sites under php5 as well... no issues... and Glossword is running on one of them. The problem is that Glossword *uses* php5 rather than just running under it like XOOPS so there is fundamental incompatibility pro tem.

It really would be good to get Glossword as a 'module' but I cant see it happening in the near future... XOOPS 4 looks like it'll be the earliest chance we get and by then it's almost certain Glossword will have been able to integrate fully with Mambo for some time.

AFAIK:

PHP5 = No
UTF-8 = Yes

I don't know about XOOPS 2.2 (2.1.1), but XOOPS 4 will support php5

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong

To which I respond... oh bugger

As an intermediate step, I've been looking for something that will 'wrap' a php program (like we can do with html) but it looks as if that's just impossible.

I'll just have to wait til XOOPS 4... !
