I had previously installed Xoops, working fine and all. I want to have Front Page Extensions in certain subdomains, which necessitates installing them in the main domain first. Which I did.

My questions are 1) Does installing Front Page Extensions always screw with XOOPS and its modules? I had to reinstall 2 modules so far (SqMail and msWeather) due to them being all wacky and not working any more.

2) Is it generally safe to delete the _vti_cnf directories that front page puts in all the directories (in the XOOPS and subdirectories thereof). One of the issues I had was this folder being installed in the modules directory causing XOOPS to look for the "_vti_cnf module"! LOL So I deleted it and all seems fine.

Any input would be apprreciated! Thanks!

Question about Blocks

Greetings!

This may be a simple question, I've not found anything specifically pertaining to my situation in search though.

What I'm looking to do is move 2 side by side blocks (2 news modules - Top Stories and Recent stories) to the bottom of the main page as side by side blocks.

I've set the weight to 5 and 6 - I have total 6 blocks shown in center of main page - but they don't go to the bottom - they stay at the top! I've also tried giving them both the same number (ie 5 and 5 ) thinking that may work - but they continue to show up at the top.

Is there something in the code that says centered centered blocks and left and right centered blocks apply weights separately, with side blocks taking preference?

Sorry if my question is long winded but I wanted to give all info best as I can. Running 2.0.6 version btw.

Thanks!

did that and still not working. let me rephrase my question here:

what is the normal syntax for the "Download URL:" entry in the file info for the download module? Is it in the form of "ftp" or "html"?

thx

that half solved my problem.

i found it would work if i listed the Download URL in the form of:

ftp://[admin signon]:[admin pw]@domain.com/pathtofile/filename.zip

is this how it's supposed to be or is there some other syntax i'm missing?

i tried with anonymous ftp signon in similar fashion as well as other ftp accounts but would only work with system admin account. also, there's only so much room to put in the url field.

i looked for some sort of tutorial for setting up downloads for like 2 days and haven't found anything that helps thusfar :(

Sorry if this has been addressed before but I've been searching and haven't found anything pertaining to my situation:

I'm trying to set up the downloads on my site but when files are clicked on for download I get a 404 error "File not found". i see the following in the browser status windows which I have noticed is different for other download sites regarding the path to my download:

http://cyberpron.com/index/modules/mydownloads/visit.php?cid=1&lid=2&PHPSESSID=688b3105404b5e589c42a40671580ec7

The actual path listed in the module exists off my root directory as it seems is should. I'v also tried different paths withing the module itself as well as the public_ftp directory, etc.

I'm using XOOPS 2.0.6 and an upgrade to myDownloads - v1.2 i found in the forums - however i had the same problems before i upgraded the module.

Any suggestions would be appreciated...thx!

nate
