Re: TDMCreate 1.91 alpha 1 for Testing

I'm testing the module, but I have doubts.
When I build the module and install get the error when access to module screen:
/modules/mymoduledirname/admin/index.php

Quote:
Error : Handler does not exist
Module: mymoduledirname
Name: Equipamento

I watched the video made by Michael, but do not know if I'm doing it right.

It would be possible someone produce a video tutorial with this version of TDMCreate?

I think the tdmcreate module is ok because the debug does not show any error, I think I'm not doing something correctly.

Yes, just copy the files form the version 4.3 over, and update the module.

Normally, what I do, after the update, I rename the old folder to something else (e.g. /newbb_3.08 or /newbb_old), and copy again the files from 4.3 to a new /newbb directory. This way I don't avoid clutter with some outdated files.

OK, I have looked at your Webiste.

One issue was that you have not updated the protector file in your /xoops_lib directory, which you had, as you should, outside of the Document Root.

This has been updated, and since yesterday, I see only 1 person who had register there.

Now, in a private message, you told me that you still got today 100 emails telling your that people registered.

I am afraid that you might have some old Websites that you don't maintain anymore, but which are still sending you registration confirmation, because you have there some very old XOOPS version, and spammers can still register there.

What you need to look at is the User page in your Admin:

YOURSITE/modules/system/admin.php?fct=users

as it shows you the actual users who have been able to register! As I said, there was only 1 person that has registered within the last 24 hours there.

So check your other Websites that you might have and not use them anymore, but they might be still up, and the users are still registering there, and the system is sending you the email registration info about them.

Your XOOPS Website that you gave me access to, is working just fine, exactly as it supposed to work

Happy Xoopsing!

Re: mail not working

I have a client with a couple of XOOPS sites on godaddy. The sites are fairly low volume, and mail works fine using the PHP mail option. The 'from address' is set to a godaddy hosted mail address (or alias) in all cases.

The client has one of the virtual server packages, not just a simple hosting plan, so there could be differences between offerings.

I would try godaddy support, as it should work.

Has anyone had experience with godaddy?
Is it their severs?
Is it something that needs to be changed in maybe in cpanel to allow php mail?

Hello there,

just a simple question :

I have some websites build using xoops ( 2.5.5 and 2.5.6 ) I have already used NewBB 4.3 in one of those with only a little bug in user preferences settings.

Now I would to try Xoops 2.5.7.1 with NewBB 4.3 ... the question is : can I import a database from a CBB 3.08 version ?
I read it should be possible to upgrade from a old CBB/NewBB version , so it should be possible to import database ...

Thanks for your kind answer

Pino

Listen to Mamba.
And this needs to be set to OFF: "allow_url_fopen On"

I run my site on Arvixe servers and so far am satisfied with their service.
Insist on a secure php.ini configuration as it does not come that way as a default for some unknown reason.

And why would you use GoDaddy, instead of Arvixe, with a special XOOPS discount?

Resized Image

This website runs on Arvixe, and I have tons of my personal and my clients' Website on Arvixe, and they all run very well, with no problems.

You go to Arvixe, and they install XOOPS for you, and it's working out of the box! It doesn't get easier than that. And for $3.20/month, it's a steal!
