It won't get updated on every request so as not to overload the server.

The Wiki is (frightfully) empty, so I started writing a XOOPS Guide myself, but I'd like to know if I'm the only one who took matters into own hands, or if anyone else wrote a guide for their clients (can't imagine I'm alone in this).

What I'm looking for is a guide on how to use the webmster functions: system admin, module configuration. Also a COntent management guide, in my case for the news, spotlight, wf-sections, faq, newbb, xoopspoll and evennews modules. With screenshots and clear step-by-step explanations for total n00bs. I'm writing mine in Dutch, but I'm willing to translate it in a later stage. If you have content I can use, please let me know!

Then the languages/english/ folder is missing for that module.

Hi All,

I've placed all Xoop files (2.0.4) on my website.
I get the error: "no language file"

What is wrong?

Thanx for your reply

Are you absolutely sure the db settings are entered correctly? See the Troubleshooting Guide in the XOOPS wiki (see to the left here) for turning error reporting on the hard way. Without error report we can't tell much about the issue...

That last instruction dates back to XOOPS 1, where there was a config option where you could set what HTML tags were allowed for users, and which were not allowed. This probably means that the module is made for XOOPS 1 as well. This may not be completely compatible with XOOPS 2, since the core has many many changes.

In other words, it could be just a small issue and then be solved quickly, but it also can be a big problem because of incompatibility issues...

Log into your site as administrator, then go to system admin -> Blocks. You'll see a list of all available blocks there. You can configure the place, order and settings there.

Thanks for the reply Anne; I ended up going with the "League" module of PHPNuke.
