I've installed the freecontent module but all I get is the message:
"Sorry, we were unable to find this Link-ID in our Database"

I deleted the tutorial link and created a basic php page to display the php settings just so I can figure out how this module works. However, all I get is the above message.

The only options in the admin module is "List Contents" and "Preferences"

How do I use the freecontent module??

Forgive me for posting in two locations (also in modules. I thought I could delete a post but I can't).

Upgrade from 1.3.7 to 2.0.x

I have a stable version of my site running version 1.3.7 of Xoops. I have been dangling in the past for a bit while I got my themes and custom modules up to date for the 2.0.3 version (which now is going to be upgraded again to 2.0.5). Now I am satisfied with my modules and what-not, and I want to upgrade my stable site from 1.3.7 to the new and improved 2.0.5.

I cannot lose any of my members database, discussion boards or my news database and so on. I want to upgrade the site with the most minimal amount of effort possible, and I want to be sure not to corrupt anything.

What is the best way to upgrade my site to the most current version without destroying anything? Are there utilities that I need to download? How can I be sure that the database will be intact and compatible when I'm done?

Thanks for all your help.

Re: How to create a module?

Check the XOOPS core files. See, how the kernel/user.php, database class etc. work and see, what options are available to you.
Get a module (WF-Sections for example) and look, how that works.
If you feel like writing HTML code in your .php document. Stop!. Make a SMARTY template for it instead (if it's an advantage). Write your code object oriented. Read the xoops_version.php of e.g. news module and use everything you want from that.

If you do that, I'm sure you will have a good module, easy to read and understand and easily fulfilling the requirements for a certification.

Good luck and have fun.

do you have command-line access to this server? You can test netpbm in this way before trying to use gallery. If you don't have command-line access, you could look at execution permissions within the server environment.

i think that another reason people dislike newbb is because it looks pretty lame, no matter which theme you use. this is related more to an inconsistent implementation of smarty than anything being wrong with newbb though.

I actually like the look of NewBB. Simple and clean.

*shrug*

Re: is where any bug fix in group management on xoops 2.0.5 ??

according to kazu's post in the thread you referenced a fix was proposed and added to the CVS about a month ago. Since then two new versions of XOOPS have been released. I do not have any sites with that many members to test this with, but my guess is that 2.0.5 includes a fix for this issue.
