I too have been looking for a XOOPS books module like Postnuke's PNBooks (http://pn-mod-books.sourceforge.net). I tracked down MAReviews and myBooks v.2.0 and tried them out, but neither seems as adequate for my needs as pnBooks.

Apart from providing a good showcase and catalogue publications, the PNBooks module can also handle affiliate/commission program links for books. It could even be cloned for other affiliate program products like software.

Has anyone out there in XOOPS land ported PNBooks to XOOPS 2? Is anyone with decent PHP programming skills interested in helping port PNBooks to Xoops. It is mods like this that will greatly improve XOOPS functionality and appeal to website developers.

Make sure all files in the themes directory are uploaded. Try uploading themes that you have removed recently, if any.
If these still don't solve your problem, try the following fix:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/xoops/xoops2/include/common.php?r1=1.38&r2=1.39

I've checked my test server and it appears to be running but everytime I go to run the Wiki I get a 404 error saying /modules/wakka/HomePage was not found on this server.

Is there a config file I haven't edited yet or something?

Hi

There is a link on the google site somewhere (I haven't got it handy, sorry) which gives an overview of how the google ratings system works.

Unlike some other search engines, Google ignores meta keywords.

Things that google does care about are:
* The name of your page
* The density of keywords on the page (ie the search terms)
* How many other sites link to your page AND the popularity of those sites (a link from a highly rated site gives your site more 'google cred' than from a low rated site).

Other search engines do care about keywords and probably work differently. Since they tend to use the density of keywords to determine the relevance of a page, you should be careful not to duplicate your meta keywords. If you do, some search engines will assume you are trying to exploit this to increase your page ranking - they retaliate by dumping your rating !!

That Error is occuring because its trying to access the database and i havent included the mainfile.php..

I cant include the mainfile.php.. if i do the file works when executed on it's own, but when included in a block it seems to cause errors..

maybe because mainfile.php is already loaded by the main page?

if i dont load mainfile.php, and include the file in a block, i get the same error as from the start.. call to non-member object.

any way around this?

NewBB post in 2.0.4 with wildly inaccurate view count?

Hi All,

Got a really weird one here. I've got a new user on my site that posted on my forums early this morning, which is fine. Whats got my attention more than normal is that NewBB is reporting there are close to 2000 views on this post, even though my site only has only gotten about 2,500 views in total for the two weeks since its launch.

The NewBB forum on my site is version 2.0.4 standard without any hacks, and I was just wondering if anyone had ever seen anything like this before?

there never will be a dir. with the name HomePage..
the url in ur browser is a function of wakka (it use mod_rewrite)
it is for easier urls and better for google bots
if it is dont work ask your host if on the machine is mod_rewrite running!

I'm having big problems with installing WakkaWiki.

I copied the module into the modules directory and ran the install as per normal XOOPS module installs.

However, there was no directory called HomePage and so this threw up an error.

No matter, I created the directory but now I get the directory listing because there is nothing in there.

The documentation given doesn't say what is required to get it up and running.

Am I missing a file or what.

The admin settings give me options that don't seem to change anything, there's no links for adding documents or anything.

Please help because I really want to get this going.

Thanks.
