XOOPS-Council
The XOOPS Community is fortunate to have many outstanding individuals who dedicate countless hours to helping XOOPS move forward. Their commitment is visible in the forums and reflected in the steady stream of new and updated modules, themes, fixes, and improvements.

The key to XOOPS’ success is a strong team working together toward a common goal. To help with the governance of the project, in 2009 the XOOPS organization has added the XOOPS Council.

As with many Open Source projects, XOOPS governance is based on meritocracy. In other words, the more a person contributes to the project and the community, the more weight their voice carries in helping shape its direction. The XOOPS Council is made up of individuals who have made tremendous contributions to XOOPS and who remain actively engaged in its ongoing development.

This model encourages openness and participation while also ensuring that leadership is grounded in experience, commitment, and meaningful contribution. Anyone can help shape the future of XOOPS, but real influence comes through active and sustained involvement.

Here is an update about the current XOOPS Council to lead and guide XOOPS forward (you can see their detailed bios below):

Modules Team: Gottfried Gabor (Goffy) from Austria.

Support Team: Christelle Gaulupeau (Cesagonchu) from France

Theme Design Team: Eren Yumak (Heyula) from Turkey

Core Team: Michael Beck (Mamba) currently from USA

We are all looking forward to working together to keep moving XOOPS forward!

Eren Yumak (Heyula) - Design Team

He lives in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. He first met XOOPS in 2008, and after seeing the power of this amazing CMS system, he never wanted to let it go. To showcase XOOPS' potential, he has always strived to design thoughtful themes and improve the appearance of the modules. Lately, he's been working on some new and exciting modules.
He works as an IT specialist at a private company. And he's XOOPS forever!

Christelle Gaulupeau (Cesagonchu) - Support Team

She started with XOOPS 2.0.18, and she liked the modular approach of XOOPS. What convinced her to XOOPS was the very helpful community that felt like a “family”. Since she strongly believes in "Do not ask what XOOPS can do for you, ask yourself what you can do for XOOPS”, she started to help others. First with her limited knowledge she was helping other beginners, but gradually, as she learned more and more, she was able to get involved in testing and in translations.

The one thing that excites her and motivates her the most, is when there is a request for voting for XOOPS and people show their solidarity by voting and supporting XOOPS.

Gottfried Gabor (Goffy) – Modules Team

Originally from Austria (from o city close to Salzburg), he currently lives in Brussels, where he works as analyst for the European Commission.
He's been using XOOPS since 2004. He has a very good knowledge in PHP, HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3, and developed already several modules (wg... series), and his goal is always to ensure that modules are simple and can be used just as easily by non-programmers. Furthermore, he is trying to support the creation of new modules through the ongoing development of the ModuleBuilder module.

Michael Beck (Mamba) – Core Team

Involved in Open Source since 1995, contributing to Project JEDI, where he created the still active JVCL. In XOOPS since 2004, he coordinated marketing and support, and for several years now he is the project manager/coordinator. One of the maintainers of 2.x series, he is also the architect of the upcoming XOOPS 4.0
