Xortify 4.11 for XOOPS 2.5 & 2.6

A new version of Xortify is available this is the Major Revision number of Four, the version is 4.11 for XOOPS 2.5 & XOOPS 2.6. We had originally hosted the Xortify cloud on TPP Internets Cloud; but they were asking for a high price for running the cloud in the next year due to data traffic; so I approached both Amazon and a couple of other companies for sponsorship and luckily Arck Interactive offered us an Ubuntu 12 Service on a Dedicated machine in exchange for Banner placement on Xortify.com

What is Xortify?
Xortify is a Sentry Honeypot for XOOPS (But we do also offer a PHP 5.4 standalone framework for inclusion into other things apart from XOOPS). It works in conjunction or standalone with Protector to prevent spam signup, malicious harvesting, as well as a form of human rights abuse which is akin to paying people less than $1 USD a day to sit in poor conditions and create accounts which are captcha protected. This is all prevented to 99.9% of the time with the combination of Xortify Client 4.11 and Protector 3.51+.

How does Xortify Work?
Xortify itself can take out bans on Username, email addresses, IPv4 or IPv6 addresses. This is harvested from your protector ban list. If Protector bans something it will upload the details to Xortify.com and share it with the user base polling the cloud. On top of having its own honeypot, which you can develop into and use the API in tools like forums etc. to send samples of Ham and Samples of Spam to for training, Xortify also uses Stop Forum Spam (www.stopforumspam.com) as well as Project Honeypot (www.projecthoneypot.org) in-route to have pre-awareness of spammers etc. on the web.

Also in version 4.11 we offer content spam checking so any Editor, DHTML Text Area, or Text Area field will be checked to match a minimal words length as well as if the content based on training is spam* or what people are after websites full of spam. This is the hieratical checking system of Xortify and will minimize on the amount of spam your website contains.

You can set the number of times a user can enter spam before they are banned as well as removed groups from spam checking. So really no, the days of being able to offer anonymous posting aren’t gone, this sentry will weed out the posts that are spam.*
