10 Xoops sites available for free testing

Resized ImageFor the xoops beginners we have 10 pre-setup Xoops sites waiting for your administration. All sites have the same features.

- Xoops version is 2.0.16
- 65 different themes preinstalled
- custom preinstalled modules "News, CBB Forum, mylinks, mydownloads, xoopspolls, catads".

We have done all the necesary setup. We will give the admin password for one of these installations to you if you want. So you can use this site for 1 month to test xoops and see its features before deciding to build a Xoops site.

Don't forget we have only 10 xoops sites and you can take one of these if you hury up.

These test sites will have subdomains like that "xoops2.parakazanin.com" , "xoops3.parakazanini.com" ...

GoXoops.com -- 508 themes!

Approximately 1 year ago, GoXoops.com announced that is would convert its entire commercial theme collection to Xoops. It has taken a year of dedicated work, but now all 508 of our themes are formated for Xoops (and include the top three and bottom three center blocks).

Release 1.1.0 of Mor.pho.GEN.e.sis

Release 1.10 of Mor.pho.GEN.e.sis

For several months I have carried out themes starting from the Morphogenesis template theme, and there I could result in corrective measures and some improvements.
After many tests under navigators IE 6 and 7, FireFox 2 (and old), Opera, Maxthon, Safari, and final validation with respect to standards W3 C : valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS 1.0/2.0 compliant, which I wanted without any warning (a minor correction of the file banners.php of the module "system" was necessary).
I propose my version 1.1.0 to you (in download HERE), of this template theme which must be the reference for the design of the new topics for our CMS, as indicated in a preceding article.

My work of correction was to set out again of Zetareticuli, Default (Xoops 2.3) and Morphogenesis themes.
In this new version of the template theme, you will find new files and files. For the files, we have one now Connexion Box and User Menu (userbar.html), a Horizontal Menu in the header (globalnav.html) with a posting according to the groups of visitors. I preserved the possibility a height different from the header according to posting from a banner or not.
We now have the transparency under IE of the images to format png on the totality of the pages of the site.

For recall, I specify that this template theme is only one skeleton, and although it is functional, it is not especially conceived for a setting in production, its design being relatively basic.
On the other hand it offers enormous possibilities of personalization, an example is the realization of the theme of XoopsDemoKris and its horizontal menu CSS taking the "a. active" or "Hot Xoops" and "Bellissima" themes.

The directory "jseffects" is used to deposit various scripts that a designer or developper of module can use. Indeed, I noticed that we had modules more and more and themes which used Ajax Javascript for example, which became redundant and could either slow down the posting of the site, or this limited only to the only module or topic, whereas we could use it for others.
For example the hook for exgallery uses LightBox script (to be inserted in the directory "include" of the core) and rmsoft MyFolder (portfolio) modules it which has to him this same script in its own files.
This script can be very easily usable on the totality of the modules by carrying out very light modifications of files php, or quite simply of templates (utility of the overload of the topics) and some lines of call in the part "head" of the theme.
Not wishing that these scripts are in a repertory of the core, the use of the file jseffects proved to be necessary for the files .js, .css and the images of the latter at a single place.

I thus carried out experimental versions as example of the Morphogenesis template theme 1.10 with scripts LightBox and ThickBox.
You will say to me: "but why not with these two scripts?", for the excellent reason that principal scripts Prototype (for Lightbox) and JQuery (for thickBox) are incompatible between them. For information, I also raised a small incompatibility between JQuery/ThickBox and our dear Xoops.js, but I know that our community will put itself at work to solve this problem, within sight of the richness that this last script could bring to our sites (the tunnel page of XoopsTestKris uses ThickBox)

The files are to be decompressed and to install directly with the root of your site, it should be known that scripts will pose problems for the validation with respect to standards W3 C.
For the use of scripts LightBox or ThickBox in Xoops and its modules, two new subjects are open on the forum Xoops France, and for the Morphogenesis template theme in which we will be able to put our questions and answers, like our achievements:

During January/February 2007, I will publish a new article on this template theme with suitable documentation like some tutoriels in french video flash.

Following your remarks and some of your suggestions, Dugris once again improved the XoopsInfo module one month after the release of its revolutionist version 2.11.

It thus brings us once again his batch of innovations, we can quote:

Version 4 of Netquery, the complete PHP/SQL open-source toolkit of network information utilities, introduces access monitoring, logging options and spambot screening based on Michael Hampton's "Bad Behavior" utility. Its purpose is to deal with problems caused by automated scripts that attempt to read everything on your site, harvest email addresses, and post spam and false referrers, trying to advertise their own links through your web pages. It works to prevent spambots from accessing your site by analyzing their actual HTTP requests and comparing them to known profiles.

The version 4.1 release updates Netquery's spambot screener function based on version 2.0.8 of "Bad Behavior". In addition, Netquery's access monitoring functionality is now combined with all others within a single loadable CMS block. Thus, the full range of access monitoring options is independent of block display choices and is now available wherever ANY of Netquery's CMS block types has been loaded and activated. The administrative interface has been revised to reflect the fully independent choices for operational and display options. (Screenshot)

Based on user requests, version 4.1 now provides a choice of either user sessions or page hits as the basis for geoIP "top countries" counts and pseudo-flag images have been added for all IANA reserved address blocks. Site administrators may, of course, substitute their own suitably sized images for any of those provided.

Netquery's major features currently include the following:

Square Construction

I am very pleased to announce the Grand Opening of http://squareconstruction.com (Square Construction) This new website is built using XOOPS 2.0.15 plus my wireframe W3C compliant theme (modified slightly).

As with all of my most recent sites, this site makes exclusive use of MultiMenu for menuing. This site also uses MyAlbum and requires no user registration whatsoever-- it is an open information sharing site.

Buddyfriends returns... but somewhat crappy

Hello.

Buddyfriends is a module for users to have a list of friends. It tells if they are online, makes a sound when a friends posts a PM, and you can send them too, and add or remove friends.

My page at Xoops developer site has been aprobed.
I fixed many bugs and added new online and message display with avatar in Xoops Buddyfriends module.

It works nicely for me on Xubuntu Linux with PHP 5 and Xoops 2.0.15

But it is known that it throws errors and doesn't work for people that use PHP 4.

So I encourage all people to test this module, and say if it works for them and what OS, Xoops and PHP do you use.


I also will appreciate so much if someone wants to rule this project, as I have no time at all for this, and I did not do the original project, so I don't know how to fix this problem. It was impossible to find the original developer. Maybe we all together may fix this, if we join our php knowledge.
If not, I will be very happy to give this project to someone more expert in php and who has much more time than me.
