Hi!

How can I do that xHelp notify me and to the user by email, instead of private message?

Isn't the standard XOOPS notification method for users used (eg same as for notifying posts in this forum)?

No, by default XOOPS 2.0.18.2 is set to "Private Message" in the profile.

I solved it with this:

https://xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=1858

Basically, all the PM, are redirect to the email, but the user has to enter to edit his profile, and change the notification metod Can I change it for all the users?

For new users, try with changing /kernel/user.php:
// RMV-NOTIFY
$this->initVar('notify_method', XOBJ_DTYPE_OTHER, 2, false);

For ALL existing users, you can change it with phpMyAdmin and:
update xoops_user_profile set notify_method = 2;
Mind the table prefix and backup.

For 2.0.x and 2.3.x the table is xoops_users.

Hi,

my first post on Xoops, a wonderful program!

This post saved me a lot of searching so thank you!

One further thing though Guys. How about having both private messaging and Email Notification on the same User?
So that you got both a message in XOOPS when logged in and also an email message?
Harder to miss message if in both places you see.

Btesec, very loaded question, as even if the module is secure, there are so many other things that can be exploited also. Having said that, I am not aware of any exploiting with this particular module (I may be wrong as I dont hear everything but...) I am considering to use it for a couple of live sites personally. So in my opinion, yes, but this is just imho.
