Problem editing news items

I just had a fresh install of the latest XOOPS version, still using alternate8 news for the homepage. everything works fine, but when i go to edit a news item, there is nothing there. all the text is gone. Naturally I do NOT hit save again otherwise my news story will not be visible.

Any ideas?

If you mean that the input box for the article body text is not shown, it could be that this module uses some editor, which is in 2.3.x no longer present at the assumed path by the module.

no i see the editor, it's the text that isn't showing up once i click on "edit", vanish, nothing, blank white box in the editor. and if i click save, then the article that i Had posted is gone. it originally posts just fine, it's only when going to edit that the text isnt' there

What is this module and from where did you get it? Never heard of it myself!

What php version are you using and which editor?

i got it here, sixth one down. used it now for a couple years...should I change? and if so to which and would i lose my news i have now

That module dates from 2004.... very old now.

Most folks use News 1.63 fromhttp://www.instant-zero.com/ and, as it's been updated for XOOPS 2.3.x it will work fine.

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the compatibility with your module; perhaps you could compare the db tables (or ask someone with a longer memory than me!)?

Can't find news 1.63 on that site... Nor in XOOPS search.

...but if we should search the module name Oledrion 1.63... U could say so. Not realy intuitive, is it?

Is this what U are aiming @, the XOOPS news module 1.63?
