Modestly suggestion:
Since MadFish is the starter of this very constructive discussion, shouldn't he play the role of "proposal preparation team coordinator"? To avoid useless arguments on the role, let's say the role has no special power but just help contact people who are in the preparation team and make sure the discussion is not dead at some step.

In case MadFish is not available for the role, we then should have another anyway in order to keep the discussion moving forward.

@phppp

I believe Madfish and SailJapan could work together, without conflict to achieve the proposed goal of unification of the proposals.

I don't see an either or situation between them but a common interest in bringing rest to these troubled waters.
I would put my trust in both of them working together if I know they have your support and cooperation.

This of course, includes the cooperation of the foundation.

Whoever that might be.

Hey Catz, there is a misunderstanding; this is not a business case.
We are nobody's clerks and we do not need a boss (good or bad).

We all work here only and only because we like it. We just need to know if our efforts are lost or not.-

Then my friend that is where we differ, you can still have a business sense put into practice here with people willing to give there time and effert freely. just because a project is treated like a business does not mean you have a dictatorship or a heavy handed person demanding that this and that be done.

Am I the only person who actually sees a need for something like this to be put into place here at Xoops?

Question 1: Has the council and the foundation agreed to follow the recommendations of this effort?

Question 2: Can this group work strictly from the objectives, set their own timeline, communicated clearly, of course, and structure a functional organzation based on those objectives?

Question 3: Who's getting any work done?

I am happy to help organize and facilitate the discussions, if the other members will agree. I suggest that as first steps we need to:

1. Finalise membership of the draft proposal preparation team.
2. Set an agenda for the discussions, to keep us on track.
3. Decide how the discussions will take place.

Re. 1, could anyone who would like to participate in the team and who hasn't declared their interest yet, please put your hand up now. Maybe we could close this within another 24 hours?

Re. 2, I will come back with a suggestion for the committee to consider shortly.

I will contact him to discuss. I am sure we can work together one way or another.

IM would be great, except I doubt you'd be very talkative at 4am ... Me either for that matter.
