Hey Xoopers!

I am using XOOPS 2.0.13.2 to create a relatively static website with no users. Just a site for a company to tell about their products with some pictures, descriptions, contact forms, etc....

Anyhow, my question is this: Being a site with no user community, there will be no login block. However, I'd like to still be able to go tohttp://www.xyz.com/admin.php and login as the Admin. Is this possible without logging into the frontend as a user? Any workarounds? I know with Mambo/Joomla you can access an Admin Login page. I was hoping the same was available with Xoops.

Thanks a bunch!

Kevin

P.S.
I am not new to Xoops: I have using it for about a year on one of my gaming clan's sites until we got hacked and lost our whole database..........ugghhhhhh!!!!!

Sure, first visit user.php and login, then visit admin.php

I was just coming back to say nevermind because I figured it out....LOL

Thanks for the help, though! And quick, too.

For the benefit of all the XOOPS members let us post our solutions.

Here is a simple solution: Insert a small block in any suitable page and make the block visible only to the admin/webmaster. In the block you can place a link to the admin section [and any other information which should be visible only to the admin]

Despite the fact that it is solved:

Nice suggestions ... but why not set the login block only visible for admin group?

setting the login block to 'admin only' is like locking your keys in the car.

How can you start your car when you can't open the door?

In other words, how can you login when there's no login block?

Remember, when you first visit a site, you're an anonymous user. Therefore, an 'admin only' login block would be invisible.

The best solution, in my opinion, is just to use user.php and set the user menu to admin only on the front page.
