That depends. If the modules use the core's API correctly, they will. If they make calls to core databases in their own way, they might not. Plus, there are a few bugs that we're ironing out of 2.2 at the moment, but they should not cause too much trouble (tho note that when upgrading from a 2.0.x site, run the updater script only once or it will cause trouble).

Some do, some dont :) I just bung them on and try them - I know the Smartfactory mods really arent happy on 2.2 at the moment.

Most of the old modules do work though.

I'm a little more cautious ... install a test site with 2.2 and install any module here first. If it's all ok, it's good for production. As an observation, I have found some modules that work perfectly well user side, but the admin falls over a bit, especially with blocks permissions and settings.

polls
cbb22
wfdownloads
and so on( dont have time to write all of them)

On this topic, has anyone tried XF Guestbook under XOOPS 2.2? I installed it, apparently successfully, but when I try to enter a guestbook message, no messages is saved, despite the progress message that appears saying "no errors". My site is on a shared server running php 4.3.11

I've allready created X 2.2 compatiblity list topic here -https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=39635&forum=20&post_id=173602#forumpost173602

so u have to add tested (really tested modules)

@ irmtfan
Install XOOPS 2.2, WF-Downloads 2.0.5a
Create two main categorys
2 sub in this main cats
then 10 in first sub of first main
and 11 in the second sub of second main

than go to Category managment and remove the last 11 category, u will be very nicely supprized by reseting the tables, everything will be erased immediately.

So working module, means really working

Herve's News works partialy, u can read what means this

Glad to see people doing some thorough testing.

It seems to me that the XOOPS developers could ask for some volunteers to test particular modules, then have a "Xoops 2.2 Tested" section in the module repository.

The next big problem, of course, is how to get some of these modules updates, especially those that don't seem to have much current support from the authors.

I would help with testing, but can't with fixing (not a programmer). It seems to me that we have the potential for one of those roadblock situations. Folks won't widely adopt 2.2 until most modules will work, but who will fix them?
