Hi,

Desactivate gzip compression.

Bye,
Hervé

I get the same message. And guess what. When I go into admin to deactivate g-zip compression, I still get the same message. I had a really good site that is now a total mess.

follow the directions for troubleshooting a blank page (the database solution), exchanging "debug_mode" with "gzip_compression" - setting it to zero instead of 1.

At the same time, you can check your "session_expire" - it should be a fairly high number (number of seconds, a token should be valid)

session_expire is in minutes, not seconds.

Be careful not to use too large a value. That might cause a numeric overflow, and the result could be interpreted as a negative value or something similarly unintended.

Any idea why gzip_compression is causing a problem with this?

My word! you are right. Don't know why I thought it was in seconds...

No, but I am going to remove the option in XOOPS 2.1 and see if I can find a better solution (in XOOPS 2.0.x it was only used in the admin section anyway, so little to no benefit from enabling it)

That's a VERY VERY VERY bad news and idea !

On slow websites and/or webserver it is VERY useful.

Then please tell me how it can work alongside the token system.
I'll be happy to reimplement a working version. Since I don't know much about gzip, I will settle with removing it now (so as to avoid blank pages - a slow site is still better than an all-white one) and then my idea would be to look into using gzip on the cache as well, so also the frontside can get an advantage of this.

I will try to find why.
For this moment, users should be warn of this problem, it will avoid such posts.

When I upgraded to 2.0.10 I had some blocks that weren't showing on the front page so I tried to make a new block with the same content.
When I created the new block I got this same "Valid token expired" thing.
So I immediatly tried again and it worked, and the original block showed at that point also.

When I found this post I checked gzip compression, and it is set to off, so there has got to be another solution.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Steve
