Is it possible to allow the ADMIN to upload an AVATAR for a user in the system/find user form? Currently it only allows an administrator to edit and delete an account.

Thanks in advance.

Not through Admin no Dr3vil

You can do this though by first uploading an image to the uploads folder, then go to the database, and the "xoops_users" table.

Go to "browse" if you are using phpadmin. Look for the user_avatar field and edit it by just adding the name of the image in the "uploads folder". No need for paths, it defaults to looking in the "uploads" folder

Thanks JackJ,
I have already tried that option myself, but was looking for a cleaner way (re:hack) of updating my user AVATARs from their info page when I (admin) do a search. I do not want the users to have this ability.

I tried editing the xoopsmembers_searchresults.html template, but it only ended up changing my AVATAR and not the user I was changing.

Thats is the same thing that im looking for, seems odd that you can edit everything about a user from admin, except the avatar they use, I'm sure with all the clever people on here, a hack can be achieved that will do such a thing.

Traditionally avatars are a users choice and preference. Just Xoop's built in good manners and net-etiquete observance really..

There's a way to do this in 2.0.6. Just use the User Rank Settings under System -> User Ranks.

It would replace the stars with your image, but if you're trying to display a funny "Forum Newbie" image, it might actually be helpful.

You could also create another rank where your user's avatar would disappear, and they would then have the ability to set their own avatar by editing the avatar for their profile...just set the number of posts to the same number in user ranks and avatars and it should work... Right?

I haven't actually tried this, but it seems like it would work?

Im all for good manners and net-etiquete but there needs to be an easy way to change or delete offensive avatars without having go the full 9 yards and delete the user.

This is an old thread but the only one on this subject I found. I would like as an admin to be able to change peoples avatars. Is there a way to do this easily (Read not editing db tables) in CBB 3.05?
