I know this is an unusual request, but this is the biggest community I belong to and many of you are in a strong position to give me a hand with something.

My webhost has had DNS propagation problems for months now. Visitors from all over the the globe report they can't access my site for weeks at a time, then can see it for a while then *poof* they can't access it again for days or weeks.

In tracking down this problem, my webhost asked me to provide dates, times, countries and IP address's (where possible). Naturally, if people can't get to my site this information will not show up in my logs, so I really need your help!

So I'm asking this wonderfully helpful community to give me a hand. All you need to do is try to visit my site (no this is not a shameless plug!).

I'm asking people that can't reach the site to post a reply here with your local timezone information, date and physical location. IP addresses would be a help, but I understand your privacy, so thats an option I'll leave up to you. If your in the states, please let me know what state your in.

I would like to pass this information on to my host (as he has requested) so that he can investigate why this problem has been persisting for so long and hopefully find a resolution.

This is very important and any assistance the XOOPS community can give would be greatly appreciated! I couldn't reach a more broad and varied audience like we have here in the XOOPS community.

Stew:

I did reach your site, so perhaps I shouldn't post this here. However, I think you need to know it took at least half a minute for your page to appear. This is highly unusual considering I have a 1 Mbps ASDL line.

I hope this is useful for your hosting provider.

Cheers.

Also could access too, but if you have DNS problems you can use zoneedit to manage your dns.
They're very reliable. Check it.

Thanks for the Zonedit link. I've added the DNS entries from them as well. My host has made some modifications to how it handles DNS so hopefully this will help resolve my issues.

I haven't recieved any negative feedback so I can only assume that all is well. Any and all help will still be appreciated as I am still unsure if the site is reachable by all.

Thanks again all
Cheers!

Hi Stewdio,

No problems accessing here. 4:35PM +10GMT, Melbourne Australia. I also experienced a fairly slow load time (approx 20 seconds) from work which has a 2MB pipe to the outside world.

I would find it very weird that DNS propagation would be causing access issues when using a dedicated web hosting provider as I'd imagine your records should be pretty much static .

Your in NL? I had problems there for weeks, but now friends ar able to connect as of last week. Based on trends, it may not last long so I may shoot you a PM if I get reports from them that they can't reach it again.
