Occasionallly when I am evaluating new modules when I install them I get a modules not found message in the admin panel. My question is how do I remove them when this happens?

It only gives that error when the folder structire of the module isn't correct (ie. /modules/modulename/modulename/xoops_version.php in stead of /modules/modulename/xoops_version.php). Make sure the structure is correct.

Yes I understand but when you download a module you are depending on the authors to insure this.

My question is how do I remove it once it happens?

you have some folders/files not at the right place.
for example you want to test a module
you unpack the distrib in the module folder...

BUT
in fact you have uncompress the differents files and folder directly in the module folder.
So you can find a language folder, or template..... in the module folder.

Acutally that is not what happened.

The question is? How do I remove it now that it has happened?

Better question is:

HOW DO I REMOVE THEM (modules that is)

I just installed a module I'd like to remove.

I unclicked the darn thing and updated, which I thought removed them at least from the XOOPS process. NOT!

I'd like to remove several modules I loaded to test out, and they didn't test out. I'd just like to remove all evidence of them - forthwith LOL

Anybody help with this?

THanks

Once you have disabled the module and then removed the module from the active list, to get it out of your list of inactive modules, simply delete the module from your /modules folder via ftp and it will dissapear untill you upload it again if you should choose

Dang ... wish I had read this an hour ago I tried these instructions and they worked perfectly. Thank you ... from someone who hadn't asked the question hahaha.

An hour ago I removed a module ... the hard way Deleting the specific lines in the DB via phpMyAdmin ... editing the cache/adminmenu.php and then deleting the module.

Your way is definitely a lot easier hahaha.

Hey Peter thanks man!
You solved the mystery of the Module Not Found.
The guys that sport all the XXXXXX wanted to make me feel like it was my fault. They didn't really know the answer. I guess????

Well all you do is.

Open up your favorite SQL admin tool and locate the table with the _Module extension. Click on the modules with no name. In the MyPhpAdmin tool click on the trash can. And as if by magic your problem disappears.

Thanks again
