I need to move an XOOPS site to a completely new server / domain name I wanted to know if this is at all possible and if so how to go about doing it.

yes its possible..

u need to configure mainfile.php
and port your database over..

and copy the existing files all over to the new server..

if you are using somesort of Gallery..like xoopsgallery..
u might have trouble chmod them allover again..

thats all i guess...nothing much

You will also have to chmod /cache, /templates_c, and /uploads to 777. Your mainfile.php should be set to 444 once you have made the path changed to your new site root.

you should make a backup of your database if you have not already done so. this is a great little mod for that:http://www.nagl.ch/modules/mydownloads/ and download XOOPS Backup 2.20
