Hi,

I have a question regarding upgrading from XOOPS 2.0.6 to 2.0.7. Would I be able to use the same modules? (I've listed the modules I currently use below)

I currently use AntiDoS-P 1.1 (found here), Lias (found here), and about three copies of the TinyContent-Duplicate (found here). I also use the "My Downloads" and "News" module that came pre-installed with Xoops.

And if yes, how do I go about upgrading? Would all the data from all of the modules save and be transferred over after the upgrade?

Thanks again!

as far as i'm aware all those modules will work correctly..

to upgrade just download the XOOPS 2.0.6 to 2.0.7 upgrade patch and then copy to server, read the instructions regarding the upgrade, it's pretty straightforward..

nothing will be lost from the database or modules..

but it is good practice to backup files to be changed and also to backup your database before upgrades and at regular intervals anyway.. better to be safe and backup than not backup and risk the chance of a problem and lose everything..

I ran the upgrade patch and it said that the it was successful. But, when I log into my Xoops, it still says "Powered by XOOPS 2.0.6". Isn't it supposed to say XOOPS 2.0.7 if the upgrade was successful?

Are you sure that you overwritten all files that were in the upgrade package? Since if so, include/version.php should also be overwritten.

I guess thats what I forgot to do. So I have to overwrite the existing files that I currently have uploaded by the files located in the "html" folder into my root directory? That I understand.

Once I overwrite the files, what do I do? Do I run the install script again or do I just run the upgrade "xoops_206_to_207.php" patch?

And, when uploading and overwriting the existing files with the new files and doing what I have to do to upgrade, would I be losing any of my data or would it still remain as it is now?

Remember: data is in database. In normal cases there will never be database changes in small releases.

Just overwrite your old files with the new one from the package. (As you say). You do not have to run install script again, neither the upgrade file, since your mainfile.php is already modified.
