just upgraded my site to XOOPS 2.0.7, modified my IPBM files to use the new XOOPS 2.0.7 files and voila.

absolutely no problems whatsoever, everything went as smoothly as it could..

my thanks to the XOOPS Team for their work on this great CMS.

I usually expect some kind of problems or errors but this time there were none at all..

Resized ImageIt did install without problems!
My question is, it did mention the fact about upgrading from 2.06 to 2.07
But what about upgrading from 2.05?
I have a site with 2.05 also which is very large in size. I would hate to have problems with the upgrade. Anyone upgrade from 2.05.2?

for 2.0.5

i would recommend 1st downloading the 2.0.5 to 2.0.6 upgrade patch and doing that 1st

then running the 2.0.6 to 2.0.7

alternatively you can download the full 2.0.7 zip and copy/overwrite all your existing files (except mainfile.php)

be sure to make a backup just in case..

of course any hacks you have made will have to be redone..

I've just downloaded the 2.0.6 to 2.0.7 upgrade and am a little confused as to what I'm supposed to do. I looked at the install.html file in the docs directory, but it looked like instructions to perfrom a fresh install. This is my first XOOPS upgrade, can someone please be a bit kind and help out a noob?

Very simple :

1 - Upload and overwrite all the files from the upgrade pack to you site.

2 - make a backup of the mainfile.php

3 - CHMOD 777 to the mainfile.php

4 - run the upgrade file ( www.you site/upgrade/html\upgrade\xoops_206_to_207.php )

5 - if the upgrade say that all is correct , CHMOD again to 644 or 444 the mainfile.php

6 - Delete the upgrade folder.

7 - login , go to admin > system admin > modules > and upgrade the system admin module.

8 - Enjoy.

ok tocpe,

1st upload the contents of the upgrade package to your server, overwriting all other files..

once completed before carrying on

chmod mainfile.php to 666 read/write access

then point your browser to :

http://yoursite.com/upgrade/xoops_206_to_207.php

follow the on screen prompts..

if everything is ok then it worked..

close your browser

CHMOD mainfile.php back to 444 read only

goto XOOPS admin and update system module..

that's it complete :)

hopefully everything will be ok..

Where is the 2.06 - 2.07 Upgrade patch? I've looked in downloads and downloaded 2.07 core but there is no upgrade folder in html folder...

In downloads there is 2.05 0 2.06 Upgrade.

PLEASE: Why not put the 2.06 - 2.07 upgrade patch there?

Always has to be so damn complicated...

Did you bother to read the news?
https://xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=1551

It is right under your nose.

You miss my point entirely tl.

If I want XOOPS News, I'll certainly go to the News section. If I want to download, I'll look in the Download section where one should expect to find downloads...

Does the logic escape you...is it just me?
