Man I hate trolls/spammers/idiots, as if running a site isn't enough work. To the original poster, if they post child porn don't even screw around - the FBI or your local law enforcement will take it from there (if you're in the US, I'm a criminal justice/information security student at RIT here in Rochester NY, and I've brought that topic up to one of my professors before - an idiot posting like that can be like a gift). As for IP addresses in 2.0 - I've seen them in the forums module, they are in a little drop down type deal (if you are logged in as admin). That helps, but another useful tool is your stats program. I use AWStats, and that can be very useful to track them, then just start digging using IPWhois, NSLookup, and out of neccessity - nmap (if you can). I would like to block these people by a combination of MAC address, IP Address, and system configuration, but i'm sure there are some huge drawbacks to that otherwise it would be popular. Other than that, just keep plugging away, have a zero tolerance policy, and try to get a few moderators to lay down the law.
