I don't know when it started but I was adding and deleting some modules and suddenly I started getting the following errors when in Admin->modules:

Module File for admin Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for blocks Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not

Everything still seems to work, but these errors are bugging me. There are about ten times as many of these as shown.

Any ideas as to how to get rid of them?

Only thing that comes to mind....

Did you de-install the modules before deleting them?

I don't think so, but if that is what happened how would I recover from such a STUPID MISTAKE? I've de and re installed several modules since, and everything works, I just keep getting these dumb errors between the modules installed and uninstalled...

Thanks

I'm not saying you've done that (although I think i've done it at least once!) ... but its a possibility.

I think when I did that last myself - I just re-uploaded the module, and then de-installed it.

But before you try this - please wait for one of the more intelligent people round here to say that it will or will not work!

This normally happpens when you upload a module folder with the wrong folder structure to your modules folder

I.E.

ModuleFolderName (dont upload this)
ModuleFolderName (files inside here upload this)

AH! That triggered a memory. I unzipped a new module into the modules dir expecting it to create it's own directory, but it didn't. All the PHP files just went into the modules dir. Thats when it started. I have since removed the files but the problem remains. How do I solve this? Did something get stuck in the DB I have to remove. How would I find what should be removed?

Thanks

You will probably need to open each module folder and ensure you have a valid module folder structure. Valid module folders should have an xoops_version.php showing inside as soon as you open it up.

Make sure their is no single files "outside" the module folders.

i.e.
yoursite.com/modules/
foldername1
foldername2
afile.php (should not be there)

In the modules/ folder itself, there is only an index.html file, and the installed modules folders, so you can remove everything else.

Fixed it! There were a bunch of folders the "unzip" of xoopsgallery.zip had left behind, in the modules dir. All fixed now. Thanks for the help.
