Hey there.
I installed your cool forum upgrade on my test site, and it worked perfectly, but when I installed it to the main site, it went bonkers - it didn't screw up anything major, but the "new private forum post", "old private forum post" "mark all forums read", "mark all posts read", the user group thing in the posts, and the pm button all refuse to show up.

I'm too ignorant about php to even contemplate trying to find the error. Can anybody please help me either fix it or get the old forum back?

assuming you updated your system files and the module itself in system admin/modules you may find you need to overwrite your "template" newbb files on the server.

I use the x2t template, and the files did not overwrite. This is what I had to do, I copied the code from the html files in the newbb template folder to the matching files in my default template. If you are not sure about "templates" see the XOOPS "Wiki Home" link to the left.

After doing this my extra features showed up..

yes, I did refresh the modul.. and I refreshed it again right now and still it doesn't work..

possible problems might be that I haven't overwritten all the files (but I don't know where to look to find out)

another problem might be that I haven't properly ran the two .php files.. for the upgrade (I ran them once in modules/ than in modules/newbb and than finally I found out that the correct place was /)..

other than that I have done everything as you described it..

maybe I can send you a copy of my installation and you can take a quick look at it.. I would really like to get that fixed :).. let me know what's good for you..

I had also blank screens and some things not showing up, though I got no error from php debug. I use Zaja themes with Zaja template, so I thought this might be the problem. I'll check this out

Updating the templates seemed to solve almost all the problems, BUT!
The "groups" and "pm" and "profile" buttons do not show up. Have any idea why?

This is an awesome improvement!

How about making a function for the forum admin module that will allow you to change the forum order? I know you can do it with the categories already, but I don't think it's possible with the forums. :)
